I love that you do coupon match-ups for Raley’s. We live in a smaller community and Raley’s is the best of the markets we have and with your help I save a nice chunk of money. So thank you – my family appreciates it!

No Amber, if you have $1 off 5 boxes you need to use one single coupon toward the 5 boxes. So your price will be $4 for 5 boxes after coupon. If the coupon was for $1 off 1 box you would get it free.

Charlene
This is my first year of couponing, and I think I am doing pretty good, a big part in thanks to you, but I was wondering if you could address the day after Thanksgiving sales. Are the deals really good? Is it just for home goods and clothes, or also for food? I am in desperate need for kids clothes, washer/dryer, and others, should I hold out and save money for a big haul then?

Thanks

Charlene October 16, 2011 at 10:06 AM

Ameena, I think you should buy things when you find great prices but yes there will be a lot of great deals on Black Friday and leading up to Christmas. I don’t think food is especially fantastic but clothing will be discounted and lots more.

Here are some old posts with Black Friday deals from last year to give you an idea:

Amazon “best deals” has All You Magazine for $6 (60% off) today. I found it by sorting price low to high.

Charlene October 19, 2011 at 11:06 AM

mandyyo, I posted that deal yesterday but thank you for letting us know.

Pat October 19, 2011 at 11:36 AM

Didnt know if I should put this on your Albertsons deals page today or just send it to you.
I am in So California so I dont know if this is everywhere. But
Milk bones are $2.50 a box at Walmart. So if you use the $1.50/2 coupon they will be $1.75 per box. AND the $2.50 price is constant.

heather October 21, 2011 at 10:27 AM

Hey! So I have the coupons for the one-step scrubbing bubbles toliet bowl cleaner. after the 4 dollar coupon the item is supose to be free with a .03 money maker. but I can not seem to find the item anywhere for the sale price of $3.97 please help?

Charlene October 21, 2011 at 10:30 AM

Heather are you asking about the sale Walmart had in the ad a few week’s ago? You missed the sale that was advertised. Some people are finding them for $4 at Walgreens but it is in the weekly ad.

Annye October 31, 2011 at 5:32 PM

Evening, Charlene! I wanted to make sure you’re aware of a second possible Olay/Allure gift set offer:

On October 21, you posted about the “Olay Gift Packs (Back in Stock!) $10 plus $10 Mail in Rebate,” and featured an image of the products in a plastic basket. Now on-line and in stores, Wal-mart has “Olay Luscious Holiday Gift Sets… (with) Bonus Free Subscription to Allure – Value $23.00.” You can see them here:

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Olay-Luscious-Holiday-Gift-Sets-select-from-two-scents.-Bonus-Free-Subscription-to-Allure-Value-23.00/17781709

I purchased the plastic basket set on-line and the Luscious Indulgence set in store, and can confirm the rebate program names are different — so we should be able to submit both rebates. The newer one isn’t quite as good (it states the value of the magazine subscription is $9.00), but still: All of those products for a dollar and a stamp? Sounds like a great deal to me!

Thanks again for all you do and take care!

I am fairly new to this coupon craze, and am having a blast (it’s like a competition), but am a little confused with the B1G1 coupons in multiples or combining with money off coupons. Can you help me understand, please?

Charlene November 3, 2011 at 8:31 AM
Susie B November 3, 2011 at 11:10 AM

$5 moneymaker on 2 Olay Regenerist moisturiizing serums:

Today only:
Spend 3.21 for two travel sized Aveeno lotions and get 7ECBS back
Use 7ECBS + $5 off $20 facial moisturizer CVS coupon (expires 11/3 from coupon scanner) + B1G1 free Olay Regenerist moisturizer PG coupon from the most recent PG insert. That would mean $20.99-$12.00 (7ECB and $5 off coupon)= $8.99 + tax=$11.86 total for me.

So, between all of these transactions, I spent roughly $15 bucks, got a $10 CVS gift card back (buy $30 and get $10 gift card promotion). I will submit an Olay rebate form to get $10 back from a $30 purchase. Hence, $5.00 moneymaker!

My deal would have been better if my store had not run out of Illy coffee–I would have had some overage from the two Illy coupons I had.

Susie from California

I love your blog.. I am saving lots and starting a nice little stock pile of things. Could you please tell me where I can “adopt” a military base to send the expired coupons to ? I have been putting them aside and want to get them mailed. Thanks
Colleen

I am new to couponing & am not really sure where to begin. Any tips/tricks or ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!

Julie November 12, 2011 at 4:44 PM

I had a little laugh at the mailbox today. I’ve been sending off for several free samples in the last few weeks. I opened a padded manilla envelope from Revlon and it was completely empty! Any idea of what it might have possibly been.

Melanie November 16, 2011 at 11:20 AM

Just wanted to share.

Went to Bob Evans last night, they had a deal where you buy a $25 gift card and get $6 in coupons. So I bought the gift card right after we were seated knowing we would spend $25 anyway. The coupouns were $3 off of bob evans grocery products and $3 off any purchase of $10 in the restaurant. They also have $6 dinners M-F all day. Saved $3 off dinner just by buying the card.

Faye Summers November 20, 2011 at 11:46 AM

Charlene, thank you for answering my questions so quickly…have another one…when I printed a coupon off on the computer some how I ended up printing several off of the same one by accident… not very good at moving around on computer …..will I get in trouble for printing off more than one???? Silly questions probably to you but Im new at this:)

Charlene November 20, 2011 at 11:53 AM

Ok if you legitimately printed them that is fine- print away. If you scanned them into your computer to get 100 copies or you took the coupon to photocopy 100 copies you would get in trouble ;) Coupons usually have a limit of 2 prints so more often then not, they tell you when you can’t have more.

Sarah Kenley November 22, 2011 at 2:16 PM

Hi Charlene,

Thank you so much for all the price match ups. Your blog is so helpful!

I have a question about Target coupon policy regarding overage. I was at Target a couple weeks ago and they gave me the coupon overage but today the same target did not which is fine. I just wondered what the policy is and also if they do not give the overage, does Target get paid the full amount of the coupon? The coupon I had was $2.00 off of Tide and I purchased the travel size at .97. Even without the overage Target is so much more coupon friendly than Walmart where I try not to shop with coupons!

Thank you.

Sarah

Charlene November 22, 2011 at 2:35 PM

Sarah, Walmart will give you overage as a policy. The vast majority of other stores will not- including Target. Yes they get the full amount back from the manufacturer but they still have a policy to adjust the coupon down. I find I get overage a lot of the time but that Tide is an usual one because it is just such a huge red flag going through checkout plus the darn thing beeps.

Placerville Sam November 23, 2011 at 10:31 PM

I’m sure you saw this, but I love a Starbucks deal…
Safeway has a Starbucks promotion starting this Friday – get a free Grande beverage when you buy a Gift Pack. (Safeway Kiosks only)
The gift pack includes 1 lb. of their Christmas Blend Coffee and a Holiday Tumbler for $21.95
I priced these items individually and they would cost $25.90 so you get a $3.95 savings and a FREE Grande drink. Plus, the gift pack comes all packaged up and ready for gift giving!

I just wanted to thank you for your blog. I just became addicted to all things frugal this summer. I have had so much fun and I’ve even impressed my difficult-to-impress husband!
I set a goal in early fall to get all my Christmas cards for free using your help. Last year I spent almost $200 on cards! I like high-quality cardstock personalized cards and didn’t think I could do it and keep the quality. Well, I’m happy to report I just mailed out almost 100 beautiful cards and paid nothing but shipping on about 60 of the cards! The others had free shipping too! I even got the free address labels with the One Kings Lane credit. When I tell people about it they are shocked. I always give you the credit. :)
Thank you so much!

cara December 7, 2011 at 6:32 AM

Hey! I found a great deal on eBay’s daily deals. I got a snowblower for 150.00 with free shipping. Usually I’m pretty skeptical of getting a cheaper version of things like this but reviews seem pretty okay for this! It’s a great gift for my father since Jersey got hit so bad last winter!

karen December 9, 2011 at 4:45 PM

how do I get myself unsubscribed from your daily email list? I cannot find a link on your website to do it myself, so will you please delete me from your email list?

thanks very much

Charlene December 9, 2011 at 4:50 PM

Karen you just click the link at the bottom of any emails. You should be able to do that for any newsletter you subscribe to and then you don’t have to hurt anyone’s feelings by asking them directly ;) I have never seen a newsletter that did not have an unsubscribe link.

Just wanted to share this deal: Free printable coupon for Sambazon drinks when you share with a friend: http://www.facebook.com/sambazon

JustMe December 11, 2011 at 10:09 PM

I just wanted to share a great deal on a recently released game, Disney Universe has a coupon code to use online for a $20 discount, C94NRHUV. Just bought a PS3 and Xbox version of it for $30 each. It was on sale for $49.9? and with a $20 discount. I believe its only available online. :) Hope it works for all!!! Merry Christmas… :)

MJ December 12, 2011 at 3:53 PM

I purchased the Stockton Record and my inserts did not include any of the AXE coupons. Can any Northern Californians tell me which newspapers got this in their insert? I was looking forward to the $3/1 giftset. Thanks.

stacy December 16, 2011 at 6:59 AM

the code for the towels is not working,is it just for that size or any?

Nicole December 16, 2011 at 6:44 PM

FYI: the 10.00 gc with $75.00 purchase at target is ONLY qualifying items (which is two day sale items). We just tried to buy a kindle $79.00(w/10.00gc) and should have gotten a $10.00 for buying $75.00. Register did not prompt 2nd gc so I called customer service and they told me u had to buy $75.00 worth of qualifying two day sale items!! You may want to warn ur readers.

Nicole Worthington December 22, 2011 at 4:29 AM

I ordered a camcorder for my daughter on Sunday, the 18. I paid for Christmas shipping. It is NOT here, and none of my information is stored in the website!!! I ordered it from Target, through you. I am so upset. I need a reply ASAP. Please

Charlene December 22, 2011 at 8:39 AM

Nicole, I am not actually Target. You need to contact them directly. If you paid for Christmas shipping they still have through the 23rd to get it to you. You can contact Target here:

http://www.target.com/HelpContent?help=/sites/html/TargetOnline/help/contact_us/contact_us.html

cheryl December 22, 2011 at 5:50 PM

If the order indeed went through they always send you a confirmation email with all pertinent info. . If you didn’t get that the order didn’t go through. I’d see if they charged your account before getting holiday grumpy at the messanger and making someone elses day grumpier.

Michelle January 2, 2012 at 1:16 PM

I live in Yuba City, 95991 & 95993 area code. I’ve stopped receiving my PG inserts, is the Sac Bee delivered in Sacramento still receiving them? Also, I’ve never received a GM insert, does anyone else in the Sacramento area receive them?

Charlene January 2, 2012 at 1:25 PM

Michelle,

Yes and Yes.

Michelle January 2, 2012 at 1:51 PM

I’m really bummed, I have 6 subs to the Sac Bee and the PG inserts are what pay for them. I wish I could get them delivered somewhere nearby and just pick them up, but the gas to Sac is too much to pay for the inserts. I called to complain, who knows if that will be effective, grrr! Our local paper doesn’t get them either, the only reason I subscribe to the Sac Bee is for the PG and RP.

Katie January 2, 2012 at 2:45 PM

There is a free sample of dove leave in nourishing oil cream on their website. http://www.dove.us/Offers/default.aspx

Just wanted to share a deal I found, I’ve been eyeing this $36 beautiful Christmas cake pan from Williams Sonoma and just went on their site to check out Christmas clearance, was happy to find it was marked down to $14.99, so got one along with chocolate molds for only $5.99 plus caved in and got the Star Wars cookies cutters ($9.99)…Williams Sonoma is offering free shipping until Jan 8th with code FREESHIP. I also went through Upromise for 3% contribution back.

Lisa P January 7, 2012 at 4:01 PM

Hi Charlene,
Happy New Year! I am trying to use your coupon database and it seems to be missing. Has it been moved on the website?
Thanks.
Lisa

Charlene January 7, 2012 at 4:43 PM

Lisa, I am working very hard on updating the database. I will have it back up as quickly as possible. If this doesn’t get updated the entire thing will cease to work as of tomorrow.
