The holiday season is fast approaching and I thought I would get started with some holiday gift guides to help you with your shopping this year. I like to get it all done as early as I can so we have more time to do the really fun stuff like decorating, baking and spending time together.
We don’t tend to buy lots of gifts but rather a few really thoughtful items that (hopefully) the recipient really loves.
Here are some ideas you might consider for boys and girls aged 5-10 (ish).
I would love to hear what hot items your kids are excited about this year!
Teepee fort: A teepee is so fun for reading or playing games.
Shopkins Happy Places: My girls never really got into the Shopkins thing but pretty much all the other kids at school talk about these constantly. Every birthday party is filled with little boxes of these toys and I do have to say they are pretty cute. The Happy Places line includes places so the kids can decorate and have a place to play with their Shopkins. Tons of options available in many price points from this line.
Jetts Heel Wheels: These look fun! A modern roller skate for kiddos.
Books to Bed: Love this idea of a popular children’s book plus matching pj’s. So cute! It you want to really make this fun, include a cute container of milk and a sleeve of cookies.
Tea Party Set: My 7 year old has loved her tea party set for a long time now. Great little set for girls.
Walkie Talkie Set: Perfect for covert spy missions! I love this simple set or step it up a notch and get this set that also includes video to see what your partner in crime is up too.
Wall Climber Car: This looks just awesome. Climbs on walls, ceilings and windows.
Mermaid Blanket: These have become a favorite gift for just about every birthday party. These mermaid blankets are sparkly, soft and come in 3 colors.
Scrapbook Kit: My girls love art kits, craft supplies, fun markers and things they can create with. I love this scrapbook kit for older kids – especially if you have a special trip planned or lots of fun things ahead. What a great way for them to record their thoughts and highlights in a keepsake book. (Find art kits here.)
Star Wars Rogue One Pez Kit: Fun set of (4) Pez dispensers. This could be cute as a stocking stuffer too.
Lil Locketz kits: My 7 year old would love this. There are a few sets to pick from and they come with little charms and cords and ribbons to create your own custom locket. If you had a little that was big on Rainbow Loom, this might be a great gift idea.
Klutz Star Wars Folded Flyers: This could be fun for kiddos that like to build and create. Klutz kits are always a hit with my girls as they are fun and (usually) simple enough for them to work on independently.
3Doodler: These pens look pretty awesome. Create 3D drawings with non toxic plastics. There are a few to choose from for smaller children or older kids that love to create. My girls are very crafty and I really like these kinds of products that encourage engineering and calculating skills as well.
Hot Wheels Criss Cross Set: This new set from Hot Wheels looks awesome. Crash and bash Hot Wheels cars to your hearts content with this race track.
Nerf Laser Tag Tagger 2pk: Intense real life laser combat. I could see this being a huge hit with boys or girls. Great way to keep them active and moving this winter.
Ticket to Ride First Journey: This is a fun game that allows kids to build routes while seeing major monuments in North America. This includes trains, train cards, tickets and more.
Nerf Sports Football Howler: This looks pretty cool- it has a long distance tail and a grip to help develop Quarterback skills. This one will be a huge hit on Superbowl Sunday.
Shimmer and Shine: This is an adorable cartoon on Nick Jr and my girls have been invited to (3) Shimmer & Shine birthday parties in the last month. This flying magic carpet and dolls would be a hit this year with lots of little ladies.
American Girl Megablocks: These are cute options for little builders. The American Girl Megablocks sets feature gymnastics, ballet, horse stables, art studios and more. I love this little house set as a starter option.
Epic Zipline Adventure: If you have the space this would be awesome. My girls have done ziplining many times and always have so much fun.
And stay tuned for many more gift guides to come!

Love these ideas! Added several to my christmas lists from your post. One thing to note though, I couldn’t get the 3d doodler link to open correctly, but otherwise fabulous!
