The Apple summer camp program is finally available! I have been waiting for this one and sadly the camp we wanted is already full. We did get our second choice though which is awesome.
If you hurry, you might get lucky as well.
The camp is designed for children aged 8-12 and it is completely free. You can choose from the following:
Coding Games and Programming Robots
Who wouldn’t want to create their own games and program their own robots? Kids will learn visual block-based coding for games, applying logic skills such as pattern recognition and problem solving. Then they’ll use what they’ve learned to program their own robots to perform tasks, challenges, and much more.
Stories in Motion with iMovie
Campers will learn everything they need to create their own movies. They’ll storyboard ideas, shoot video, and delve into other aspects of the filmmaking process. Then they’ll edit their new epics in iMovie on a Mac.
Interactive Storytelling with iBooks
Campers will create their own interactive books and learn about the elements of writing a story, from idea to storyboarding. They’ll draw illustrations using an iPad, then add sound effects and Multi-Touch features using iBooks Author on a Mac.
I think these sound like fun!
Head over to the Apple store here to see what is available. Select your state, city and then the camp you are interested in.
Our camp is 90 minutes a day for 3 days.
I do suggest dropping everything to do this right now as they fill up very quickly. The space is extremely limited.

Did you get an email about this? I signed up but never got the email. I’m in your area too and everything is filled.

Hi Amanda, I have been checking for them to open it. In the past it has been 6/18-6/24 so I knew it would be anytime. I just registered maybe 30 minutes ago. The one I registered for, Interactive Storybooks, shows spots available for me right now.
