Here are some free or cheap children’s activities available this week to keep the kiddos busy. I thought posting these now will help you plan your week.
These are all the things that are free to do this week with just a few that are very inexpensive.
As always, it’s best to confirm with your local store before you make a special trip.
Pottery Barn Kids: Every Tuesday from 11AM-11:30AM, kids of all ages are invited to story time. Times can vary slightly from store to store so you might want to call ahead to verify.
Junior Design Camp on February 7th at 11am. Kid’s will participate in a hands on workshop about color, pattern and textiles inspired by Pottery Barn Kid’s designs.
Valentine’s Day Card making stations February 6th-14th. Kids are invited to create one Valentine to give away to a child in need and one to take home for the favorite someone.
Williams-Sonoma: Learn how to make Asian Dumplings on February 7th at 10 am. Suitable for ages 5-13.
Lakeshore Learning: Kids will create From The Heart Coupons on February 7th. Stop by from 11am-3pm.
Michael’s: Kids will make String Heart Art on February 7th from 10am to noon. The cost is $2 per child for 30 minutes. Ages 3 and up.
Barnes and Noble: There is a free storytime Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday of each week with books, a cookie and usually coloring pages and activities. Check your local store to confirm and verify time.
Some stores will feature the book Ready Rabbit Gets Ready.
Bass Pro Shop: Your kids can participate in the Free Kid’s Adventures Activities- treasure hunts, crafts and more. These are weekly activities and vary greatly by location. You can head over here to find your local store to confirm activities and times. And just a heads up from personal experience, it is best to get in line early. These events tend to be very popular.
REI: They offer the Family Adventure Program with various classes for children and adults. I saw hiking and camping classes plus fun Geocaching adventures. I also saw outdoor photography lessons.

Home Depot: Free hands-on workshops designed for children ages 5 – 12 on February 7th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Children will make an adorable heart box. You do need to register.
Lego Store: The next Lego build is February 3rd. Your little ones can build a Space Shuttle in Lego stores. The event starts at 5pm and is limited to kids age 6-14.
Toys R Us: Spongebob Event on February 7th from 12pm to 2 pm. Children can build a Mega Bloks SpongeBob SquarePants Jellyfish launcher. You will also receive a free Mega Bloks SpongeBob figure.
If you live near an American Girl Store, you might check out their events. Times and dates vary.
