Wow this is great news! The Target Black Friday ad is already available to check out. This is usually the most popular ad of the season- along with Walmart- so I am very happy to see it released a few days early.
This year Target will open doors at 6pm on Thanksgiving day. They do have a bunch of doorbusters available but remember almost all of these deals will be available online as well. The doors will open at 1am on Friday for Black Friday shopping.
Typically the Black Friday ad opens up for online shopping on Wednesday evening at midnight PST- so that would be 3am on Thursday for those on the East Coast.
I do post as the ads go live and in prior years, Target has released some deals early for Red Card holders. All of that will be posted in real time on this blog- so stay tuned and you can probably get all your shopping done from the comfort of your couch!
I was very excited to see that Friday morning from 6am to noon you can get 10% off all Target gift cards online or in store. How cool is that? I will have a reminder up for you on the blog so you don’t forget- I plan to pick some up myself! The gift cards can be redeemed 11/29 and after and you can buy up to $300 worth.

Hi,
Just to clarify. The ipad mini says $249.99 and a $80.00 gift card.
So you pay $249.99 and then get a $80.00 gift card back? Right?
I know that’s how Target ads always work, but that’s a good price!
Also, do you know if you rang that up first, can you use the gift card on the next transaction, right after? Or is there a waiting period?
Thanks
Charlene says
Angela- there is a waiting period on the 10% off gift cards, but a gift card you get for buying the iPad should be available to use for your next purchase. You can triple check the iPad on page 5 of the ad but it says $249 and an $80 gift card for me. Last year the price was $199 so I figured it would be right around there again.
susan says
Do you think we could use the red card to purchase gift cards and get an extra 5% off?
Charlene says
Susan- I am almost certain that doesn’t work but you could always try it and see. 🙂

Can i order the door buster deals online? I’m looking at the canon dslr camera and some of the infant toys? Thanks!

Hi – I am so excited. But at the same time I’m nervous that the one item my child wants is a doorbuster – I really don’t want to fight crowds of very negative people to get it. If I go online at 3am on Thurdays…will of Target’s Black Friday deals be going on? I have never shopped Black Friday online — but for this year I would like to try it. Any advice?

Hi Ana- which item is it that your kiddo wants? The online sales start Wed at midnight PST- at least they have in the past so no guarantees of course- the in store deals don’t start until 6pm on Thursday. So the worst case is you try and get it all done at night on Wed and then if you absolutely can’t get what you want, you might need to go in that night. You have nothing to lose :). The feedback from prior years has always been great from people trying to shop online. The items I notice that don’t tend to be available are things like Crayola gift packs, $5 pj’s, the books and little things like that. Those items aren’t guaranteed in store either though. Two years ago target had these darling little girl’s tutus for $3 and I wanted to grab a few and the stores never received the items either. I was pretty ticked 😉
Charlene says
Shannan- the Canon should be online you just want to be ready to go immediately when the sales start. The Baby Einstein toys are hard to say. Often the small items like that they will not offer online but we won’t know until the ad breaks at midnight for sure 🙂
Ana says
Hi…thank you for your response. I can certainly understand that there is no guarantee – goodness if there only were! My son wants the Skylander’s Trap Team game – but from the ad it looks like it’s a doorbuster with the figurines. Often doorbusters like that are a mad house – something I am looking to avoid this year. So I was hoping that those video games and accessories would be available online. But like you said – if it isn’t there, you don’t lose anything, just need to go in person. I really appreciate what you have done with your blog. I look at your posts daily and have even quoted you to family and friends. thank you.
Charlene says
Oh Ok so Ana I can tell you that last year the Disney Infinity thing was the toy to get and I posted it at $39 probably 4 different times. I will have the Best Buy ad up later tonight and Kohl’s so we can see in those and then Walmart is still to come. I bet you have a good chance at that price for that toy as long as you are ready at the keyboard to shop 😀
Charlene says
PS- Ana Walmart has the game for $37. I bet you get it 🙂
Ana says
Charlene – You are the best!! Thank you so much for all that you do!
Catherine says
Will the IPAD deals be available online at 3AM EST as well…or is that only an in store thing.
Charlene says
Catherine- last year all the ipads were available online. For awhile too- I remember being surprised at how long.
