Here are some free or cheap children’s activities available this week to keep the kiddos busy. I thought posting these now will help you plan your week.
These are all the things that are free to do this week with just a few that are very inexpensive.
Disney Store: Kids ages 3 and up are invited to Summer Play Days at Disney Store. Store events include Art of Animation, Trivia, Story Time and Showtime. Stop by every week and receive a free character button. Events take place every day through September 1st. See a Cast Member for event schedule and details at your local store.
This week’s button giveaway includes Marvel Super Heroes.
Pottery Barn Kids: Every Tuesday from 11AM-11:30AM, kids of all ages are invited to story time. Times can vary slightly from store to store so you might want to call ahead to verify.
The theme this week will be “Wheels on the Bus” on August 26th. Children will receive a book club passport at their first story time and a special gift after attending five story times.
Lakeshore Learning: Kids will create a Whimsical Wind Catcher on August 30th. Stop by from 11am-3pm.

Barnes and Noble: There is a free storytime Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday of each week with books, a cookie and usually coloring pages and activities.
Some stores will have a back to school storytime this week featuring the book Peanut Butter and Cupcake. Children can listen to stories and participate in activities celebrating new friendships. Times vary.
Bass Pro Shop: Your kids can participate in the Free Kid’s Adventures Activities- treasure hunts, crafts and more. These are weekly activities and vary greatly by location. You can head over here to find your local store to confirm activities and times. And just a heads up from personal experience, it is best to get in line early. These events tend to be very popular.
Kids Bowl Free: Just register and get 2 free games everyday. This varies by location as to when the program ends.
REI: They offer the Family Adventure Program with various classes for children and adults. I saw hiking and camping classes plus fun Geocaching adventures. I also saw outdoor photography lessons.
The selection and dates/times vary by location but you can check to see what your store is offering here.
Williams-Sonoma: Junior Chef Class on August 30th at 9:30 am. Kids will learn how to make pizza dough from scratch. Ages 9-13.
If you live near an American Girl Store, you might check out their events. Times and dates vary.
