Here are some free or cheap children’s activities available this week to keep the kiddos busy.  I thought posting these now will help you plan your week.

These are all the things that are free to do this week with just a few that are very inexpensive.

Disney Store: Kids ages 3 and up are invited to Summer Play Days at Disney Store. Store events include Art of Animation, Trivia, Story Time and Showtime. Stop by every week and receive a free character button. Events take place every day through September 1st. See a Cast Member for event schedule and details at your local store.

This week’s button giveaway includes Dipper.

Pottery Barn Kids: Every Tuesday from 11AM-11:30AM, kids of all ages are invited to story time. Times can vary slightly from store to store so you might want to call ahead to verify.

Select stores will have an appearance by Woofster from Super Why for story time and pictures on July 12th. Find a participating location here.

The summer reading program runs through July 17th. Children who read 8 books from their recommended list will receive a free book.

Lakeshore Learning:  Kids will make a Count and Decorate Octopus on July 12th. Stop by from 11am-3pm.

Michaels: Kid’s Club Event: Make a Summer Souvenir Chest on July 12th at 10am to noon.

Barnes and Noble: There is a free storytime Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday of each week with books, a cookie and usually coloring pages and activities.

There will be a special storytime on Saturday featuring The Numberlys.

Bass Pro Shop: Your kids can participate in the Free Kid’s Adventures Activities- treasure hunts, crafts and more.  These are weekly activities and vary greatly by location.  You can head over here to find your local store to confirm activities and times. And just a heads up from personal experience, it is best to get in line early. These events tend to be very popular.

Kids Bowl Free: Just register and get 2 free games everyday in summer!

REI: They offer the Family Adventure Program with various classes for children and adults.  I saw hiking and camping classes plus fun Geocaching adventures. I also saw outdoor photography lessons.

The selection and dates/times vary by location but you can check to see what your store is offering here.

Lowe’s: There will be a free Build and Grow Event on July 12th at 10am.  Kid’s will make Turbo with a pullback motor.

You can register here.

Williams-Sonoma: Junior Chef Class on July 12th at 10am.  Kids will learn how to make “spiralize” vegetables. Ages 5 and up.

If you live near an American Girl Store, you might check out their events.  Times and dates vary. They have a special movie viewing event on  July 17-19 for Isabelle Dances Into the Spotlight.  You will need to make reservations for this event.  Includes movie premiere, dance jam video, a goody bag and more! Find a location and specific dates and times here.

Summer Reading programs are going on.  Head over  to find out the dates.

Don’t forget the $1.00 movies!  Get the scoop on that here.
