Here are some free or cheap children’s activities available this week to keep the kiddos busy. I thought posting these now will help you plan your week.
These are all the things that are free to do this week with just a few that are very inexpensive.
Disney Store: Kids ages 3 and up are invited to Summer Play Days at Disney Store. Store events include Art of Animation, Trivia, Story Time and Showtime. Stop by every week and receive a free character button. Events take place every day through September 1st. See a Cast Member for event schedule and details at your local store.
This week’s button giveaway includes Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
Pottery Barn Kids: Every Tuesday from 11AM-11:30AM, kids of all ages are invited to story time. Times can vary slightly from store to store so you might want to call ahead to verify.
The summer reading program runs through July 17th. Children who read 8 books from their recommended list will receive a free book.
Lakeshore Learning: Kids will make a Summer Break Journal on June 21st. Stop by from 11am-3pm.
Michaels: Rainbow Loom Meet Up. Ages 6+ and the cost is $5 per child. Times and Dates vary. Contact your store for local times.
Kid’s Club Event: Make a How to Train Your Dragon 2 Key Chain on June 21st at 10am to noon.
Barnes and Noble: There is a free storytime Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday of each week with books, a cookie and usually coloring pages and activities.
There will be a special Frozen Party story time on Friday the 20th at 3pm. The event will include crafts and special treats. It looks like this varies by location so I would check first to make sure your local store is participating.
Learn the cool aspects of physics by building your own race car on 6/21 at 11:30am. Ages 7 and up.
Bass Pro Shop: Your kids can participate in the Free Kid’s Adventures Activities- treasure hunts, crafts and more. These are weekly activities and vary greatly by location. You can head over here to find your local store to confirm activities and times. And just a heads up from personal experience, it is best to get in line early. These events tend to be very popular.
Kids Bowl Free: Just register and get 2 free games everyday in summer!
REI: They offer the Family Adventure Program with various classes for children and adults. I saw hiking and camping classes plus fun Geocaching adventures. I also saw outdoor photography lessons.

Williams-Sonoma: Junior Chef Class on June 21st at 9:30am. Kids will learn how to make slushies, ice cream and more with Zoku. Activity for kids ages 5-12.
