You might be able to get a free bonus star from Starbucks Rewards. This did work for me so no guarantees it will be available for every account but certainly worth a look.
You just want to head over to Starbucks Rewards here and scroll all the way down to the very bottom.
If you see that go ahead and click. For some reason they wanted me to download the financials for 2013. (Um… Starbucks I am not even ready for my own taxes.)
I just clicked and then closed out the PDF that was opening.
At the bottom of the screen I saw this:
The star won’t appear instantly- it can take up to 24 hours to show up. So go ahead and check again tomorrow and hopefully it is there for you!

After downloading and “reading” the financials, it took me back to my account where I had to fill out my email address and was then sent an email with a star code.
I’ve been doing these for a few weeks. This plus all the other bonus stars, I’ve ended up with 3 free items and I think I’ve made maybe 2 actual purchases in that time frame (not counting the bagged coffee at Target deal)!
I love their reward program because you can use your the free item to get any drink or even a treat, and that can end up being worth almost $6 for me!

Yep… totally got a star for downloading their financial thingie. No idea why. I got one a few weeks ago for adding my birth year. lol Weird stuff.
My mom sent me a link to this post on FB and I tried it–and I got a free star as well. I is just as you say, they want you to download a PDF report file and if you do they say they will email you a start code that you can enter into your account online. If you read the message carefully, it says something about “completing this week’s tasks” so it is possible they may have an offer like this in the future. Thanks for the tip!
