I have mentioned this easy summer drink in the past but I just revisited it for Easter and thought I’d post it again.
It is just so fast and so refreshing.
The recipe couldn’t be easier- we had it for Easter Dinner and again for brunch the next morning. It was delicious with Ham and we had an orange citrus salad and then the next day with brunch foods.
To make this recipe you have a few options. You basically want equal parts juice and a lime sparkling water served over lots of ice.
If you have a few minutes you can squeeze fresh oranges and that would be amazing. In a pinch just use a store bought OJ (I actually used Simply Orange.)
I usually use about a liter of sparking water and about half a container of OJ to serve 4 people.
My kids LOVE this and I love this too because it cuts back on the sugar they get (from the OJ) and it stretches the OJ to last a bit longer. I like really simple drinks myself because I am always crazy trying to get the food cooked and everything set out before my guests arrive. A complicated drink is usually not an option for me so this you can put together in seconds and it looks like you actually made an effort to make something special- not just sparkling water or plain OJ.
You can substitute any flavor of sparkling water that you prefer- lemon would be fantastic.
You can also freeze slices of lime, lemon or oranges in water and use these as ice cubes for your spritzers. It would be very pretty for brunch or a party.
And if you want another really simple and so very, very delicious drink idea- try this Copycat Starbucks Iced Passion Tea Lemonade recipe too.
