I mentioned a few nice gift card deals in the CVS ad matchups for the week but there is one more offer you won’t want to miss.

Here are the ones that I already mentioned:

    • i Tunes Gift Cards -Purchase $75 of iTunes or App Store Cards, Get $20 ECB back (Limit 1)
    • Gap, Old Navy or Banana Republic Gift Cards – Spend $100 on Gift Cards, Get $25 ECB back (Limit 1)

But there is another one available as well:

Spend $150 on a Paypal gift card and get $50 in ECBs (yikes!)

There is a limit of one on this offer and the Paypal gift card is just a Mastercard so you can use it at the grocery store, gas station, online or whatever.

The catch is that you have a small activation fee of $5 and then you do want to use this card quickly because there is a $5 fee per month after that. So don’t buy it and let it sit in your wallet. I know I spend about $70 at the gas station alone so this is two tanks of gas for me. (bah!)

I am sure CVS will be out of these gift cards in a flash so don’t wait to grab yours.  You can turn those $50 in ECBs right around and buy all the freebies this week or grab some fun toys for the kiddos or decor for the house…  Lots of options there!

This was not listed in the preview ad that I used for the matchups but it is listed online from CVS so this should be available in most (if not all) CVS stores that actually carry the Paypal gift cards.  Please be sure to check your local ad to be sure this offer is listed.   The offer ends 11/27.

UPDATE:  PS my Husband went last night (11/26) and this worked just fine at my store.  There were signs and about 10 cards or so available.

I have been following this deal since Saturday (some people did the deal with early activation). A couple things I wanted to mention that I thought was important:
    1. You will be asked for: name, address, e-mail and SSN to activate the card. To get around providing a SSN, you may ask for limited activation. It means you can only use it in-store, and not online or at an ATM. You can also link it to your existing PayPal acct. Also, lots of people reporting long wait times should you try activating by phone.
    2. It says Limit 1, but it’s actually 2.
    3. If you don’t want to get hit with the second $4.95, you have to spend the balance immediately.
    4. Make sure to cancel the card when you’re done to avoid fees.

To make this an even better deal, you can use the $150 gc to do the Old Navy/Gap/BR or iTunes deals. Talk about some major ECBs! 😀

I went to 7 stores yesterday and only 1 had it. However, it was just my luck that the system was frozen and the card would not load. It kept saying ERROR. Same thing happened to the guy behind me. HTH and Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂

Spend $50 or $150??? Which is it?

Bridget, please don’t yell at me. Here is what I said in the post:

“Spend $150 on a Paypal gift card and get $50 in ECBs”

I don’t see anywhere that I said spend $50 on a gift card but if there is a mistake just let me know where it is and I will fix it.

Do you know if this is regional? My store had no idea why I was talking about and it’s not in our ad.

Rachael, Possibly. I linked to the CVS.com ad where you can enter your zip code and double check.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve never seen an ecb that big before. Do you know if you have to spend it in one transaction?

I have used the entire amount. Do I need to cancel it, and can I do that on the website. I was looking, and I did not see a cancel option. I was going to shred the card.

I just figured out how to remove the card.

I was so excited to see this deal! I grabbed up one of these cards today and used it to buy more gift card deals- a $25 OCharleys gift card (which includes a $5 extra gift card) and a $50 Amex Prepaid at Publix (which was only $44.95 after a $10 coupon and activation fee).

So I’ve been playing musical gift cards today, but it’s been a lot of fun! Also, I just set up an ISIS account which auto-loads $10 into an Amex Serve account as well. ISIS has some great promos right now, including a $15 off a $30 purchase at Toys R’Us!
