Free Children’s Activities: Week of September 30 – October 6

Here are some free or cheap children’s activities available this week to keep the kiddos busy.  I thought posting these now will help you plan your week.

These are all the things that are free to do this week with just a few that are very inexpensive.

Toys R Us: Free Cra-Z-Loom bracelet Making Event October 5th from 10 am to 12 pm. Make your own bracelet and take it home with you.  This event is intended for children ages 6 and up.  Limit one per child and while supplies last.

Pottery Barn Kids: Every Tuesday from 11AM-11:30AM, kids of all ages are invited to story time. Times can vary slightly from store to store so you might want to call ahead to verify.

Mini Firehouse Build Event October 6th from 12-4 pm. Kids are invited to celebrate fire safety month and build a mini Lego City Firehouse.  Space is limited and RSVP is required.  Call or visit your local store to reserve your spot today.

Lakeshore Learning:  Kids can make “On The Farm Puppets”.  Children bring their favorite farm animals to life as they decorate colorful stick puppets. This event is October 5th from 11am- 3pm. 

Michaels: Kids Club Event-Make Scary Jewelry on October 5th.  Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop. Only $2 per child reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. Sessions starting every half hour from 10am – 11:30am. See a store associate to join.

Barnes and Noble: There is a free storytime Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday of each week with books, a cookie and usually coloring pages and activities. You should check your store because dates and times vary.

Saturday October 5th is the second annual Star Wars Reads Day with crafts, contests and more.  It also mentions that Star Wars characters will be there for a special meet and greet event. Find a store near you here for times.

Lego Store: Free Lego build event October 1st at 5 pm.  Kid’s will build a Witch. The event is limited to kids age 6-14. Quantities are limited so it is best to get there early!

Home Depot: Home Depot’s free Kids Workshop will be on Saturday, October 5th and your kids can build a Fire Rescue Plane from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. You can get all the information about registering here.

If you live near an American Girl Store, you might check out their events.  Times and dates vary.
