Here are some free or cheap children’s activities available this week to keep the kiddos busy. I thought posting these now will help you plan your week.
These are all the things that are free to do this week with just a few that are very inexpensive.
Toys R Us: Free Cra-Z-Loom bracelet Making Event September 7th from 10 am to 12 pm. Make your own bracelet and take it home with you. This event is intended for children ages 6 and up. Limit one per child and while supplies last.
Infinity Power Disc Trade Event September 7th 12-2 pm. Bring your own Disney Infinity power discs and trade with your friends. Plus get special Disney coupons.
Pottery Barn Kids: Grandparents Story Time September 3rd at 11:00 am. Kids of all ages are invited to story time. Times can vary slightly from store to store so you might want to call ahead to verify.
Letter Writing Stations (for Grandparents Day) September 2nd-8th.
Grandparents Doll Tea Party September 7th at 10am and 11am. Kids are invited to wear their finest as they enjoy refreshments and crafting. Grandparents are also encouraged to join in the fun. Space is limited and pre-payment is required. The cost is $10 for this event and is intended for ages 4 and up.
Lakeshore Learning: Make a Play Guitar on September 7th from 11am- 3pm. What instrument could be more fun to play than a cute little guitar that kids create!
Michaels: Kids Club Event- Fall Crafts by Elmers on September 7th. Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop. Only $2 per child reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. Sessions starting every half hour from 10am – 11:30am. See a store associate to join.
Barnes and Noble: There is a free storytime Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday of each week with books, a cookie and usually coloring pages and activities. You should check your store because dates and times vary and some locations are having a special Grandparents Story Time.
Home Depot: Home Depot’s free Kids Workshop will be on Saturday, September 7th and your kids can build a Football Ring Toss Game from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. You can get all the information about registering here.
Lego Store: Free Lego build event September 3rd at 5 pm. Kid’s will build a pirate. The event is limited to kids age 6-14. Quantities are limited so it is best to get there early!
If you live near an American Girl Store, you might check out their events. Times and dates vary.

For the Sacramento area, Nimbus fish hatchery is having toddler story time for next 6 weeks on Tuesday and Wednesday.
