There is a nice deal today on Chevron fold over elastic.  This is a great product to grab to make your own hair bands and head bands.  I have been using these creaseless hair bands for well over a year now and I won’t go back to normal elastics.

I have a tutorial coming up this afternoon with details on how you make them.  They are super easy- literally minutes to make and you can do hair bands or head bands.

You will pay $3.99 for 5 yards of the double fold elastic and then $2.55 for shipping- so $6.49 total.  From the 5 yards you can get 20 hairbands or maybe more- so it works out to $.33 per hair band plus about 5 minutes of your time to make them.  No other supplies are needed.

This is an excellent price for the patterned elastic.  I just saw black and white polka dot ones at Old Navy- 3 for $5.50 which works out to $1.83 per hair tie (boo!)

This is what the end product looks like:

If you prefer a solid color to the Chevron pattern I have another option I will be listing out in my post this afternoon so you can check back in.  The price for solid colors is slightly less expensive (about $1.50 cheaper for 5 yards.)

If you do like this Chevron pattern I wouldn’t wait to order!  These are very cute little gifts for people or crafts for little girls to make for their friends.  It would be fun for Girl Scouts or Cheerleaders or for Goody Bags at birthday parties.

Head over to Very Jane to order.

I ordered two. I think this will be fun to do with my daughter and I’m looking forward to your tutorial. Thanks for the cute ideas!
