What to Buy in July {+ July Fresh Produce Guide}

Boy ya’ll the month of July is just zipping past for us!  I hope you are all having a wonderful summer- we have been having so much fun checking off all the things on our Summer Fun List this year and adding lots more stuff to it!

Anyway it is time to talk shopping in July.  This is a great month for all sorts of reasons- I love when you can get awesome deals on last season’s stuff plus awesome deals on all the new stuff as well.  That doesn’t happen very often and July is a great month for sales.

The first thing to mention is the clearance sales- we should start seeing all that summer stuff go on clearance.  This includes everything from patio furniture to bug spray to sunscreen to bathing suits.

Since summer is still in full swing for most of us, this stuff does tend to sell out fast so best to keep a close eye on what you want.  Please note once this stuff is gone you will have a terrible time finding what you need.  So if you don’t need a bathing suit until August you really don’t want to wait to pick one up.

Also in July Target tends to have a clearance sale on toys.  Right now my store is at 30% off but hopefully they hit 70% off and you can pick up some things at great prices.

As far as new sales the big thing this month is usually Back to School sales.  Lots of us (ME!!) are not ready for this quite yet but it is a very good idea to start looking at these deals and picking up things you need now.  I post all the drugstore, Target, Walmart and office supply Back to School deals every Saturday and Sunday.

It is National Ice Cream month so lots of deals and coupons on those products.

We will still see lots of sales on grilling items- this is the month to grab the things you need for Labor Day and such.  Starting in August retailers tend to focus on Back to School foods- snack items, breakfast foods etc… so we won’t see as many deals on grilling products.

Tons of yummy fresh produce to choose from- Eggplant, Onions, Corn, Berries, Watermelon, Peaches and lots more.

If you want a super fast recipe for Eggplant- this is one of my favorites- Roasted Eggplant Sandwich.  Very quick and easy.

    I saw this patio lounger in tan for $54 at Target (Cupertino, CA)
    http://www.target.com/p/patio-lounger-re-12in-room-essentials-tan/-/A-14219808
    then 2 aisles over there was more patio stuff and they had same thing but in Grey or Orange marked 40% off $32
    so i bought one and it is comfy and matches other grey furniture we already have.
