Here are some free or cheap children’s activities available this week to keep the kiddos busy. I thought posting these now will help you plan your week. There are several little crafts that the kids can make for Father’s Day.
These are all the things that are free to do this week with just a few that are very inexpensive.
Pottery Barn Kids: Bring the kids by any day the week of June 10th to create a special card for Dad or Grandpa. This is a free event.
Also, every Tuesday from 11AM-11:30AM, kids of all ages are invited to story time. Times can vary slightly from store to store so you might want to call ahead to verify.
Lakeshore Learning: Father’s Day Tie Craft. Kids can give Dad a terrific tie they make and decorate themselves! Stop by June 15th from 11 am to 3 pm.
Lego Store: Free Lego Build Event on June 19th. Kids will build a Lego Superman Mini Model. The events starts at 5pm and are limited to kids age 6-14. You can find your local store here. Quantities are limited to approximately 150 per store for the Superman build – so it is best to get there early.
Michaels: Kid’s can make a Father’s Day Duck Tape Frame June 15th. Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop. Only $2 per child reserves 30 minutes for your creative kid. Sessions starting every half hour from 10am – 11:30am. See a store associate to join.
Home Depot: Kid’s can come out and do a “surprise” Despicable Me 2 craft on July 6th. I know that this is not until next month but I wanted to ahead and mention it so that you could mark your calendars. This is a free workshop designed for children ages 5 – 12 between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. All kids also receive a free Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.
Lowes: This is not until next week but registration feels up so fast I am mentioning it now so you can go ahead and get signed up. There will be a Build and Grow Clinic June 22nd (10:00 am) or June 22rd (2:00 pm) to build a Monster’s University Chest. You can register here for this free event. The kids should get an apron, all the supplies for the clinic and a few other goodies.
Barnes and Nobles: June 15th at 11 am is storytime with books, a cookie and usually coloring pages and activities. These events are free.
There is also a free storytime Tuesday and Thursday each week. You should check your store because dates and times might vary but the 13th at my store they are having a Hands on Learning Storytime with Leapfrog Letter Factory Activity.
Regal Cinemas: Children’s movies every Tuesday and Wednesday for just $1.00 per person at 10 am. This does tend to be pretty popular in my area so be sure to get there early.
Cinemark: Children’s movies for $1 or $.50 if purchased in advance. The Summer Movie Clubhouse days depending on what state you live in. Some theaters have already started while others will not start until next week. It’s best to just click on your actual theater to get show dates and times because it greatly varies.
Toys R Us: Father’s Day Lego Building Event June 15th 12-2 pm. Kids, families, dads- Build a LEGO City Police Car together, then bring it home with you! This event is intended for children ages 5-up. Event materials available while supplies last and distributed to participating children only. Limit one per child.
