I wanted to post a last minute Father’s Day gift idea for those of you that might be struggling for ideas.
I made this little frame last year and it was very simple and turned out to be really cute.
I just bought the letters D-A at the craft store and had each of my girls take a photo holding up the letter. Our dog is an important part of the family too so he got a turn as well.
I had the photos developed and then found this clear frame at Target and voila!
Very easy.
You don’t need to buy the letters, you can always use a chalkboard to write them or use chalk on the ground to spell it out. You might have the child make the shape with their body (YMCA style) or just print it out on your computer.
If you have one child, they can take turns holding the letters in different poses and that would be adorable too.
I can’t remember exactly what I paid but I think this was less then $20 to do and my husband still has this hanging in his office.
I love looking back on these types of things to see how much the kiddos have changed.
Oh and if you do have little ones, I try to incorporate a stage of their life in these types of things too. My big girl has dragged around this stuffed lamb since- well we bought that before we had her so her entire life actually. I don’t know how much longer Whiney the lamb will be in our lives so I included him in the photos.
And even if a framed gift isn’t the right thing for you, this idea can easily be used to create a really cute Father’s Day card too.
