Well despite all my yelling at Lord Grantham last week he did not listen to a word I said and now look at what has happened.
Terrible business. #TeamCora
Sadly I got distracted on Sunday night and missed the first 20 minutes of the episode. I can usually catch it on Amazon Instant Video so I wasn’t too worried but this week I noticed that they don’t seem to be airing Season 3 for free! Now I have to wait for Sunday to catch the first part of the episode.
So now I am doubly angry with Lord Grantham and if you also have some catching up to do there is a pretty good deal to just buy Season 3 all at once.
If you have Amazon Prime, you can purchase each episode for $1.99 the day after it airs. They are also offering a season pass that allows you to get the entire 3rd season all at once.
The Season Pass is $9.45 which will catch you up through episode 5 which aired 1/27. They will also give you the remaining episodes in the season for an additional $7-8 fee. So about $17 in total and you can watch it all at once.
You can of course just wait and see it for free on PBS but for those that want a little marathon of Downtown Abbey- or you want to see the rest of season 3 before it airs- this is a great option.
It looks like starting in June, Amazon will have the exclusive rights to stream Season 3 and any additional seasons that air.
If you prefer to buy the season on DVD the price is $24.99.
Can you believe there was a lady in front of me at Barnes and Noble last night paying $40 for Season 3 on Bluray!

You can watch it on their website for free the week after it aired. So on Monday (the day after it aired) till Sunday it is available for free.

On the PBS website.

Amen! Lady Sybil is my favorite character. I was so sad last week. I love this show. It’s the only tv I make time to watch.

You witnessed shear craziness! Do you have a hard time holding your tongue when you witness those transactions?? I totally do!
I just watch DA online for free the week after if I miss it: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/watch-online/
I know they won’t be there forever but I usually can’t wait too long before watching anyway. This week’s episode was insane!!!

Oops, sheer* 🙂

For some reason I don’t see episode 5 on pbs.org. Just the episode 4.

Season 3 for $10! Another wonderful find, Charlene! Thank you for your awesomeness.
If you have the PBS player app for ipod/ipad, you can watch new Sunday episodes starting at 9 p.m. (same day they air!). Also, if anyone is playing catch up, Netflix has season 1.
Charlene says
Ok well I will have to download that. I watched Season 1 and 2 on Amazon Instant Video with the app as another option. I think you might need Prime though to get it free.

You can watch all Season 3 on the PBS app for iphone/ipad for free

They actually charged me the $9.65, THEN another $8 for the un-aired episodes. I’ve got an email in to them now for a full refund. I’ll just be patient and watch for free 🙂
Charlene says
Erin,
You can watch a week behind. Episode 5 is what aired on Sunday and that is not available on the app. So it appears to be a week behind. I think the point is that you can watch the 4 remaining episodes right now for $9.45. That isn’t very much money if you just want to see the entire season and not wait 5-6 weeks for it to air on PBS :).
Charlene says
Oh darn Crys. Well they certainly could have been more clear on exactly what the charge was. You can also just click the live chat and they should be able to refund your money right away.
