Safeway: Starbucks Deal Update

12/17/2012. This post may contain affiliate links. Read my Disclosure Policy.

I just wanted to give you an update on the Starbucks deals going on at Safeway right now and show you a sample transaction that I did today.

First, through tomorrow, when you buy both a Starbucks gift card AND $7 in Starbucks product you’ll either get a FREE grande beverage loaded to your club card or $5 catalina back depending on whether or not you have a Starbucks kiosk in your store.  I shopped at a store without a Starbucks since the $5 is a slightly better deal.

And second, the $5 Starbucks Gift Card after mail-in rebate is still available through the 31st when you buy 3 Starbucks or Tazo products in one transation (limit 1).

With that in mind, here is what I did today:
Buy (1) $25 Starbucks Gift Card
Buy (3) Starbucks coffee or kcups $6.99
use $3/2 Starbucks Coffee, exp. 2/2/13 (SS 12/02/12)
Or use $1.50/1 Starbucks K-Cups Printable
Or use $1.50/1 Starbucks K-Cups Printable
or Use $1.50/1 Starbucks K-Cups Printable
Pay $41.47 and get back $5 Starbucks Gift Card after mail-in rebate and a FREE Grande Beverage (or $5 catalina)
Final Price: $31.47 ($25 gift card and 3 products for $6.47 or $2.15 each!)

Or you can also buy a Starbucks gift card and $7 in sale Starbucks or Tazo product and get the FREE grande beverage (or $5 catalina) if you’ve already done the mail-in rebate promotion.

Either way that’s a fantastic deal for Starbucks or Tazo products! The Starbucks gift card offer runs through the end of the year but that $6.99 might be ending Tuesday night. They do have the 4pks of coffee drinks for 3.99 or there are Tazo items for $3.50.

You can see the rest of this week’s Safeway deals here.

I believe the $6.99 price for Starbucks 12 oz is good thru 12/21 or 12/22 if I remember correctly. The $2 Just for U coupon is for 20 oz bags so I don’t think you can use it for the $6.99 bags.

Barbie,

You are right it does say 20oz but I think that is a mistake. I have never seen different size bags for Starbucks except at Costco. I did this transaction today and the coupon did come off. I checked Safeway.com too and they don’t have 2 sizes of bags listed.

I tried this today with the 12 oz and they would not take of the $2 b/c it does say 20 oz. Well, I went back to look and sure enough, there was one flavor on a bottom shelf that comes in a 20 0z (it was a med roast but I can’t remember which one-was yellowish writing) and it was $13.99.

Hey Charlene-
Glad the coupon worked for you…my store does carry the 20 oz size bags (I think they are usually priced around $12 and are located on the bottom shelf) but might give the coupon a try anyhow. Thanks!

Ok well I am sorry for the mistake. Just use a $1.50 coupon instead. It is only $.50 more so a very minor difference in price. Although I am unclear how a store would refuse a Just for U coupon? Isn’t it loaded right onto your card?

That coupon didn’t come off for me and it was loaded to my card.
