Target Black Friday Ad 2012

The Target Black Friday ad for 2012 is finally available!  This is the one I look forward to every year and this year it is actually up a few days early.

Target is opening at 9pm on Thursday night and the sales run through 11pm on Friday.  So there is ample time to hit the sales but just a reminder that typically almost every deal will be available online as well.  I hope many of you will check in with me on Thursday and Friday because I typically post nonstop both days :).

There are some great extra perks this year:

1. Get a free $10 gift card when you spend $50 on home, apparel and accessories.  This is Friday from 4am until noon while supplies last.  There is a limit of one per person.

2. You also get an extra 5% off with your Target red card- this applies in store and online.

Here are a few highlights I can see from the ad and you can check the full ad scans at the bottom of the post.

the ad says shop at target.com on thanksgiving – I wonder if you can get the same deals on line?

Can we order these things online at Midnight instead of going to the store for the Black Friday Specials?

Do you know if I buy items before the black friday sale that will be on sale, and I take my receipt back to the store during the sale if they’ll give me a price adjustment?

    Price Adjustment Policy
Target’s Price Adjustment policy assures guests receive the best value. If a guest purchases an item at Target, but sees it advertised by Target at a lower price during the same week of the purchase, or the week following the purchase date, the guest can bring the original receipt to the Guest Service desk and receive a price adjustment. A guest has up to 90 days from the day of purchase to take advantage of the Price Adjustment policy.

Do you know if this applies to the door busters?

    Charlene,
Do you know what happens at Amazon on Black Friday? And do you know if Amazon does price adjustment?
    Thanks

I asked last year if they do price adjustments for their black friday items last year and they said yes but that most of the items will not be in stock till black friday. I hope they do this this year because i need a new camera.

    boycott black Friday!

I have worked for Target for 11 years and their price adjustment policy does not count on black friday promotions because these items are only a 2 day sale. They will not be on sale again within 14 days. Furthermore, you only have 14 days from the date of purchase to receive an adjustment. Opal, remember this, it is only 14 days, not 90. And they have changed their return policies regarding electronics, so you only have 60 days to make a return instead of 90.

Charlene – will you be posting the best deals for Black Friday – including Target, Walmart, etc? Maybe it would be cheaper if I just flew you to Denver and you could shop for me 🙂

Hi, was wondering if other items, not just published will be on sale? I saw some kids clothes in the 4-day sale ad that I didn’t in the Black Friday ad, should I buy them now or will I get a better deal on Friday? Maybe there would be some items not published at all that could be on sale?

Tracey- If I remember they might have something up when the Black Friday ad is officially released online (probably Thursday). It is not nearly the chaos of Walmart though. The movies were the only weird thing I remember- there was a monster display of them by the front doors where the food side is at my store last year.

So if I purchase items on black Friday ad this week and return during 2 day sale, can I repurchase items I just returned immediately?

Do you know if you would have to spend $50 after the 5% Target redcard discount to receive the $10 gift card on home, apparel, and accessories?

  18. Robin says

    11/09/2012 at 12:11 PM

Oh to be the Target employee who released the ad! LOL! Looks like some great deals- I was hoping to find a better deal on the Elf on the Shelf (below $29.99) so I’m hoping a bunch of others are not wanting it too:) Thanks for posting this!

  19. Charlene says

    11/09/2012 at 12:47 PM

Robin, They ran that same deal a few times in the regular ad so we will probably see it for $25 before BF.

  20. Tracy says

    11/09/2012 at 1:17 PM

I wonder if you buy something online during the sale that qualifies for a gift card, does Target then send it to you? Example, iPad. I wonder if it is worth it to go into the store if you can also get it online
    Thanks for posting

  21. Charlene says

    11/09/2012 at 1:33 PM

    Tracy,

Often the gift card offers are available online and they will actually mail the gift card. We won’t know for sure until the deals go live though. The $10 on $50 of course they won’t honor online.

Has anyone shopped online for target bf? When does it go live online? Is it hard to get items?
