Starbucks is offering a nice freebie today (11/28) but I believe this might require a Facebook account.
You can download Food Network in the Kitchen for free today. The regular price on this app is $1.99.
To get this offer just head over here and click Get Started to log in with Facebook. (I pushed skip on the first pop up box).
You should be able to get the app for free by clicking the black iTunes box. They will give you a code that automatically populated in iTunes for me and the app started to download.
Please note if you skip the steps above and go directly to the app store, this will not be free. You must get the unique code from Starbucks by following the steps above.

I am sorry but I can’t troubleshoot error messages to be able to determine what is wrong. Perhaps you can contact Starbucks or just try from another device you might own or if you are on a computer use a different browser.

Alexis are you looking in the app store or did you follow the directions in the post?
it’ woking now. When you click on the black box that says download, it will still say 1.99, but then the prepopulate code is on the next screen to get it free.
