Here is your guide to what is on sale in the month of November as well as the fresh produce items in season. Typically the best way to save money on fresh items is to purchase what is in season so this is a great way to start thinking about meal planning.
You can also see what should be on sale in November- basically everything is on sale in November because of Black Friday. Retailers are gearing up for holidays so Christmas is in full swing in most of my stores!
On the grocery side, I typically find the very best deals of the year on baking products like flour, chocolate chips, cooking sprays and so on. You also see great deals on fall items like canned pumpkin, soups, hot drinks etc…
We should start off the month with Halloween clearance sales. Usually stores want all this stuff gone quickly so last year Target reduced Halloween items to 90% off (on 11/8 at my store.)
Post Halloween sales can be a good time to find little things for Operation Christmas Child boxes– like pencils, stuffed animals, Barbie dolls etc… Anything that is not scary would be great to grab. Also hard candy is a great item to grab for those boxes.
For retail, we typically see nice prices all month on electronics and TVs. Sometimes winter clothing will go on sale in November (0r Dec at the lastest)- so get great deals on coats etc…
I will have an article coming soon on how to prep for Black Friday but last year the online deals were just as good as in store. We saw a lot of online deals on Thanksgiving Day actually and they continued through Friday. The weekend slowed a little and then on Monday “Cyber Monday” I found some nice deals but nothing like what we saw Thursday/Friday.
You can keep up with the newest Black Friday 2012 ads on this page- typically the ads are all pretty much available by mid-November.

in the after halloween sales, not only is candy and costumes and decorations on sale but check other departments too. in the past, i’ve bought bounty paper towels, boo berry cereal, oreo cookies, ziploc sandwich bags, etc that had halloween them for really low price right after the holiday. we think it is fun to use halloween napkins in march or other month – more fun to place in kids lunchbox than boring white.
