Now I am not sure what the prices are on the value boxes, but reader Karentina said it worked out to $.17 per diaper for size 4. That is like paying $5.27 for a jumbo pack.

The boxes were $29.99 at my store; I didn’t have the SS coupons so the $0.166 per diaper was just using the Safeway $3 coupons and $10 off. :o)

These “new” DataBar coupons drive me bonkers. My Safeway does not accept them yet. Anyone else running into this?
I know what you mean. I have that problem at one of my Safeway stores. I’ve been told that they are not supposed to accept Qs that don’t scan. When my Q didn’t scan yesterday at self-checkout, they just pushed it through. I asked why I have problems at this store and not the other up the street and was told that it’s because some Safeway stores have the old machines and some have new ones. The old ones have problems reading the new databar Qs. 🙁 I have this problem at RA and Walmart too, but they almost always push it through for me.
I just ran in to the databar coupon issue this week at my Safeway too. I had no idea it even existed until the cashier noticed there was no UPC code. Thankfully, she just got permission to override and push them through as well. However, I had a major Walmart shopping trip planned and decided not to do it. I am sure my Walmart doesn’t have the new technology yet. Do you think it will help if we start carrying some sort of explanation to hand to the cashier? Kind of like a print out of the store’s coupon policy. Is there such a document? Thanks for your blog.
