Here is another unadvertised gift card deal at Target.  This is what I found at my store so you might not find the exact same thing at your store.

Buy 3 toothpaste or toothbrush and get a $5 gift card (through 9/1). This was featured in the ad but there are more items and better prices in store.

You can mix and match but to keep it easy here are the toothbrushes included and the prices from my store:

Up & Up 2pk Toothbrushes $1.25
Oral B Indicator 2pk Toothbrushes $2.96
Colgate 360 Toothbrush $4.49
Use $0.50/1 Oral-B Pulsar, 3D White, Pro Health, Complete or Indicator, exp. 9/30/12 (P&G 08/26/12)
or Use $0.40/1 Colgate from 8/12 SS
Final Price: $1.25 moneymaker on the Up & Up variety after gift card

Colgate Total Toothpaste $3.49
Colgate Optic White Toothpaste $3.49
Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste $3.59
Crest 3D White toothpaste $3.49
Crest Pro Health toothpaste $2.99
Use $0.50/1 Crest Toothpaste or Liquid Gel, exp. 9/30/12 (P&G 08/26/12)
Or use $0.75/1 Crest Toothpaste or Liquid Gel, exp. 8/31/12 (P&G 07/29/12)
Or use $1/1 Colgate Toothpaste, exp. 9/15/12 (SS 08/26/12)
Or use $1/1 Colgate Max Fresh, Total, Optic White or Sensitive Toothpaste, exp. 9/1/12 (SS 08/12/12)
Or use $0.75/1 Colgate Optic White Printable
Final Price: $1.72 for 3 Crest Pro Health after coupon and gift card

I did purchase (3) of the Up and Up toothbrushes myself. The gift card did not trigger but they were clearly marked. I just took them to customer service and they gave me the gift card no problem. Sometimes with Target if you spend less then the gift card amount (in this case I spent $3.75 and my gift card was $5) the card won’t trigger.
It is just a wonky little thing so some stores may have corrected this issue by now- if you have other items in your cart totaling $5 or more you should be fine. (Or just mix and match with a toothpaste instead).

See more Target deals for the week here.

The floor manager or supervisor refused to honor these. She brought the sign and it said when u purchase 3 Colgate or crest select toothbrush. She kept arguing that even though it says $5 gc on top of up & up tag, it still wouldn’t count. I tried, but I had a screaming baby with me and gave up.

    Jan,

I would just call target customer service and ask them for assistance with your store.
