Safeway Deals 08/01 – 08/07

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

You can see Safeway’s coupon policy right here. Most stores will allow you to stack a manufacturer coupon with the store coupons that can be found in the weekly circulars. You will want to be sure to get a club card for Safeway to take advantage of the sale prices! Safeway sale prices tend to vary from region to region so you will always want to double check your local ad! Also, I do not have double coupons in my area so your prices are likely much better than mine!Be sure to read about the new Just for U program rolling out at Safeway!

Any idea of the Pop-tart size? Is it the small box or the larger one? I don’t have my ad yet.

Adrienne, I tossed my ad already but it should be whatever the standard size box is. I don’t usually buy Pop Tarts but I think it is 8ct for the normal size box?

I received a CAT announcement on the Kellogg’s cereals. Starts tomorrow, 08/01 although I think I threw the announcement away so don’t know the exact details 🙁

    Adrienne,
My paper ad says “$1.88 Pop Tarts 8-ct. selected varieties” Hope that helps.

Frozen food update – you cannot combine the 5/15 with the 5 cat for Kashi/Morningstar Farms. I tried it this morning. It will not print if you use the 5/15.

    Patricia,

Did you spend $25 in total before coupons? My thought was to spend $25, get $5 off with store coupon and the $5 back in cats.

Has anyone figured out the cat for Kellogg yet?

The promo had buy $20 of certain foods and get a $5 cat. I purchased 5 Kashi and 1 Morningstar for a total of $21. When the cashier scanned the 5/15 frozen food coupon the cat did not print. I had them return all of them and repurchase without the 5/15 and the $5 cat printed. HTH.

Yeah it does help. So you need $20 after store coupons to get the cat 🙂

Thanks all! I had to run to Lucky/SaveMart and get the $1.88 deal there since it was ending Tuesday. I was able to get the larger size for $1.88, but I had to buy 6. Oh well. It’s not like they won’t be eaten. 🙂

Has anyone tried the Huggies deal? Is it after all store discounts? I found some clearanced diapers and usually the clearance stickers affect the deals differently than the in-ad coupons and J4U pricing. I’ll be going later on after dinner tonight.

only Recyclebank Kashi Printables I see are for specific cereals, and another for snack bars

Speaking of Kashi, did anyone like Kashi on Facebook a few weeks ago and get a coupon emailed to them? The amount of the coupon was going to be determined by how many likes they received. I didn’t get mine.

Charlene, I am not sure if it is my computer or not but the new store matchups for this week are not coming up on the tabs for the stores (Safeway and Raleys/Belair). When I go to the tab for the store the newest blog for that store is for last weeks matchup. I just thought I would let you know in case it is happening to others. Thanks for all your hard work. Hope what I said makes sense!

Sara thanks for letting me know. My Internet is horrific right now because I am traveling but I will for sure look into it!

Confirming what Sara reported about the pull-down Tab for Stores. I thought it was just me. Have happy, safe travels Charlene!

I received a $4 catalina today from Kellogs when I purchased 2 Raisin Bran and 2 Rice Krispies. I also purchased 4 Poptarts, so not sure what triggered it!

TJ: report for Kelloggs CAT I saw indicated any cereal over 10.8oz qualified, as well as 12 ct Poptarts, so maybe all did. Too bad only one CAT/transaction.

I used the frozen 5 off 15 in u-scan and it required attendant intervention. I sometimes just punch in the code on ad coupons but it looks like these will have to be surrendered for every transaction, u-scan or regular checkstand. Grab some extra ads if you plan to get a lot of frozen food. And if you have Just 4 U coupons, might do better in regular checkstand. The u-scan attendants looked at the total on the screen for frozen purchases, even tho it SHOULD work if JFU MQs came off , like you have $15.40, JFU $1 off Klondike comes of and the screen says 14.40. U-scan may refuse to even try it.
I think the 5/15 just scans in regular checkstands.
not sure how in-ad coupons or other rozen items behave with 5/15. Too chicken to mess with them
