Safeway Try Me Free Rebate

I wanted to post this today so all of you looking for the new Safeway deals would catch it.

Some of the Safeway Family stores have Try Me Free rebates available for several products.

We saw a similar rebate awhile back that was in the newspaper.  This particular rebate you need to sort of wander around your store and hope you spot it.

I saw it in one of two stores I shop at and I would suggest looking carefully at the cereal aisle and also any endcap displays of these items.

My forms were sort of tucked onto a side display of Pop tarts.

Here is the deal- you can purchase one of each of the items listed below and get the full purchase price refunded.  There is a maximum rebate of $37.00 available.

  • Apple Cinnamon Chex Cereal (up to $3.90)
  • Chocolate Chex (up to $3.90)
  • Cascadian Farm Ancient Grain Cereal (up to $4.60)
  • Fiber One Nutty Clusters and Almonds (up to $5.05)
  • Fiber One Chewy Bars (Strawberry, PB&J or Chocolate-up to $4.50)
  • Fiber One 90 Calorie Brownies (Chocolate Chip Cookie- up to $4.00)
  • Mott’s Fruit Snacks (Assorted or Berry 10ct- up to $3.50)
  • Betty Crocker Fruit Roll Ups Mini Rolls (Angry Birds 4pk up to $3.05)
  • Golden Grahams, Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs or Cinnamon Toast Crunch Treat Bars (up to $4.50)

All of these items must be purchased at Safeway and affiliate stores between 6/20-6/27 so you really need to rush to get your shopping done.

You do not need to purchase everything at one time but you do need the actual rebate form to submit for your refund.  Take care not to toss those boxes after you do your shopping because you need to include the UPC # off the back.

The last time around people got very upset because the rebates did take quite awhile to process.  I know checks were sent out but just keep in mind it might be a few months before you get your money back.

Your form must be mailed off by 7/11.

They did not have all the products at the store I went to. I couldn’t find the fruit rolls brownies or cascadian farms

When did you get the last Safeway try me free rebate? I haven’t received mine yet.

I thought it said to write UPC # on receipt right? This is my first time filling one of these out. Could you post an example of yours? Or email me I want to make sure I do it right! Thx. 😉

For local readers, the rebates CANNOT be found at Greenback & San Juan, Sunrise & Cirby, or Sierra College & Douglas stores. If anyone does find them would you mind sharing the location? I know we only have one day, but it might be worth a shot. Thanks!

    Laura,

I found it at the Pleasant Grove store near Walmart.

    Andrea,

For the UPC # you just want to look for the bar code on the back of your package. The bar code will be the little box with straight black lines and that is what the cashier will have scanned when they ring up your items. There will be a long number there and that is what you are supposed to write on the receipt or you will probably have to include an extra sheet of paper if you don’t have the space.

    Does that answer your question?

I found them in Antioch on a endcap, but the store only had 5 of the 9 items (all cereal and cereal treat bars). I stopped at Pittsburg on my way home from work and they had 2 more items (Fiber one Chewy Bar and Motts Fruit Snacks) near the eggs section. I couldn’t find the Fruit Roll Ups or Brownies.

    Lisa,

It seems most people started receiving them about 3 weeks ago. One reader said she got in touch with Safeway customer service and they were able to track it down for her. You can see more comments here:

I saw it but the one at my store ended 6/26.

    Lisa,

According to the deposit log on my bank statement, I deposited my last rebate check on April 24th…meaning I received the check in mail a few days before that. I hope you’ll received yours soon 🙂

D’oh! I just went to Safeway last night, but didn’t read this post until this morning. I really need to get in the habit of reading your blog before I go to Safeway — or Rite Aid or Walgreens or… 🙂

Hi, I am new to the West Coast (and Safeway) and haven’t yet been able to find the answer to my question – if there is a BOGO deal at Safeway do you have to buy two items to get the deal or can you get just one item and it will ring up half off?
Thanks in advance to anybody who can help with the answer 🙂
    Erin

    Erin,

They typically ring up at one free and one full price so you need to buy 2 items.

    Patricia,

You sent the rebate form with your receipt to them on the required dates? I think whomever you spoke to was probably confused. Safeway corporate is not usually the one to process rebates.
