Safeway & Kroger Stores: Oscar Mayer Lunchmeat as low as $.20

There is a great deal on Oscar Mayer lunchmeat running at Kroger through 6/10.

The 2oz size is priced at $1.00 and there is an Oscar Mayer catalina running right now for lunchmeat:

  • Get $2 when you buy 3
  • Get $3 when you buy 4
  • Get $4 when you buy 5

So the best deal is to buy 5 packages and you will pay $5.00. You get a $4.00 catalina coupon for your next purchase making the net price $1.00 for 5 or $.20 each.

(Thanks Coupon Katarina)

Now  this is supposed to work at Safeway too so I tested it out and it worked perfectly for me.

There are two deals you can choose from, or you can mix and match options:

Oscar Mayer 2oz lunchmeat is $.99

Buy 5 packages and pay $4.95. Get back a $4.00 catalina coupon so the final price is .19 per pack!

Now that price is not in the weekly ad but it was the price from my store for this size (pictured above).

Another option is courtesy of reader Denise.

Oscar Mayer Selects or Carving Board lunchmeat with in ad coupon (limit 5) – $2.99
Use $1/1 Oscar Mayer coupon (scroll down to click the link)
or Use  $1/1 from 4/15 SS
Final Price: $1.99

The best deal here is to buy as many as you have coupons for, or just mix and match with those smaller packages. If you happen to have (5) coupons, the deal looks like this:

Buy 5 packages of Selects lunchmeat at $2.99 w/ in ad coupon
Use (5) $1/1 Oscar Mayer coupons
Pay $9.95 and get back a $4 catalina.
The final price is $1.19 per pack or even better with doubles!

Now I am a dork so I calculated the per oz price so you would know the very best deal. The small packs of 2oz size work out to $.10 per oz. The selects lunchmeat is 9oz, so that works out to $.13 per oz.

The small guys win but it seems like the selects are probably a slightly better product so might be worth paying a little extra.

One last note, I just noticed the packages I bought today expire Feb 2012 and June 2012.  I will obviously be returning the expired product but you might check the dates before you buy.

Update: I stopped at Safeway on my way home and got the Selects lunchmeat.  My catalina did not print.  It could have been a fluke for me or it could be that this is a new product and that is the reason… Who knows.  You might stick to those little 2oz packs because they are certainly working or you can contact catalina marketing at 877.210.1917 to request the catalina is mailed to you.

Catalina doesn’t print on the Selects, unfortunately 🙁

Can you roll these catalina deals more than twice at either store?

    Cheri,

    Yes you can.

Safeway seems to be slacking on their quality check. I was there Sunday and found a loaf of bread that was expired by a week and accidentally bought a tub of betty crocker frosting that expired Feb 2011…yes 2011.

hmm….remember a few weeks ago when the ballpark hotdogs were on sale for $1.50? There were a TON that had already expired and I somehow got lucky and found some in the very back that were still good-Safeway better get on the ball!

    Thanks Rachel,

I stopped by and tested the selects just to be sure and updated the post with what I found. So strange! The little guys for sure worked for me though.

I bought the selects a few days ago and it did not work. Also I found some pkgs that were expired too.

    Thanks so much, Charlene!

I went to safeway last night and bought the little packs (2 oz), and it worked. I got $4 back.

Yes Ashley. That’s what I did with mine.

I tried in Roseville for oscar Meyer selects, no Catalina for me . I got 3

    Annie,

I am guessing maybe because they are new? I was looking for tricky wording to indicate that product was something other then lunchmeat. You can call catalina to get your cat. I am not going to bother with it myself. The guy did something weird when I gave him my coupons and the total worked out to be $1.95 for 4… I figure you can’t get better then that but catalina is usually fast to mail out the cats.

I guess I am a dork too, because I was totally thinking “I wonder how much that is per oz…” before I read your words 😉

Just left Safeway and bought the OM Selects (5 of them). My CAT did not print either, however Customer Service refunded me $4.00 when I showed them.

Oh and I got 3 kikoman marinades and got $2 in Catalina. They are $1.99 each. There are coupons out there to stack to make this a good deal.

Courtney, what did you show them? The Catalina didn’t print for me either. Very frustrating.

Bought 5 from the clearance marked down at 75% off to .25 cents so made $2.75. Still wondering why I didn’t get more…ended up paying $4.38 OOP on the 2nd transaction *sigh* sometimes I surprise myself 🙁
