I mentioned the free kid’s workshop from Home Depot a few weeks ago but just wanted to remind you about it.
On Saturday 5th, there is a free workshop from 9-noon at all Home Depot stores.
This is a great one to check out if you garden or plan to start a garden this year. Children aged 5-12 can build a little planter box and embellish it for free.
They also get little coloring sheets and a free Bonnie plant. I have never heard of Bonnie plants but here is a little info from the press release:
Each featured character is on “stick tags” inserted in the plant they represent, all have a code that allow kids to log on to www.growums.com and engage in a virtual world of interactive play with adorable, animated vegetable and herb characters that come to life and demonstrate gardening basics and encourage healthy eating.
So this sounds like an extra cool free event and I just wanted to remind you about it once again.
I have a gym class until 10.30 on Saturday but I am going to try and take my kids over after. I love anything that teaches them that food doesn’t actually come out of a box.

In my area, Bonnie is a brand of plants. We bought some tomato plants that were this brand and they have done very well in our garden. What a fun activity for the kids!
Is this one that you would have had to register your child for?
Kristen,
Usually Lowe’s is the one that fills out really fast. For Home Depot here is the information they provide:

I did this with my kids yesterday – the planter boxes are so cute and they each got a strawberry plant. This is such a great program for kids.
