Now I am just about beside myself because I LOVE Amazon and they have only offered a discounted voucher once before that I can recall.
You can use your $10 on anything you like- movies, MP3s, electronics… whatever you might want.
Now you need to purchase your Amazon gift card from AmazonLocal which is a new daily deal site.
The voucher does not expire and can be used on Amazon.com for whatever you like. There is a limit of one.
I did this when this happened before and it worked great! If you use your amazon visa you get 5 points per dollar too.

I did this, the $5 is taken out of my account but I don’t have a credit put on my amazon account. confused and disappointed….

There is no reason to be upset. They have sold over 800,000 of these so I am sure your voucher is there somewhere. Did you get an email confirmation of your purchase or what does it say when you purchased the voucher? Seems to me they would email a code to use. Did it say they would send it immediately over to your Amazon account?
I did it about 6 hours ago. I’ve checked my email and didn’t receive anything yet.
I just did this a few hours ago and it said that alot were sold and it would be a several hours before a confirmation was sent. I think they are just backed up from all the sales.
I would guess it takes a little time. Typically when you buy vouchers from daily deal sites it is about 24 hours ;). I am sure you will have it soon.
