You can see Safeway’s coupon policy right here. Most stores will allow you to stack a manufacturer coupon with the store coupons that can be found in the weekly circulars. You will want to be sure to get a club card for Safeway to take advantage of the sale prices! Safeway sale prices tend to vary from region to region so you will always want to double check your local ad! Also, I do not have double coupons in my area so your prices are likely much better than mine!Be sure to read about the new Just for U program rolling out at Safeway! This should be available in California, Chicago and Hawaii.

Here are the Safeway deals for the week. I put an * next to my favorites. They are running the promotion again to get a $10 catalina back when you spend $75 in one transaction from 3/2-3/5 only.
NOTE: This week there is a promotion, spend $15 on any frozen items and get a $5 off coupon to use toward NEW items in frozen foods. There are several new items- like Kashi steamers, Wonka ice cream, Eggo Simply waffles etc…
This promotion is running 2/29-3/31.
Any other great deals you see? You can see the list of Safeway catalinas here.

4lbs bag of frozen chicken for only $1.99? Is this too good to be true?
Jessica says
There was also a $1/1 Hormel Always Tender Q in the 2/12 SS. Great deal! Thanks for posting. 🙂
Charlene says
Sherry,
That is $1.99 per lb in a 4lb bag. They run the same sale every few weeks.

I’ve saw the CA cheese sticker on three flavors today at my Safeway. Monterey Jack, Pepper Jack, and Sharp Cheddar.
Erin says
Mission Artisan had two tearpads in the past at various stores. One version already expired, but I have a few $1/1 from a tearpad that expires 3/31. If you have that coupon, too, it will only be $.49 for a package. 🙂
Karen says
are the cheese stickers on the front of the pkg? i looked in the stores a while back and didnt any. thanks
Charlene says
Karen.
Yes they are not so much stickers as just the little gold and black logo right on the package.

thanks…i will look again. since safeway is based in CA i would think a lot of their brand cheese would be Calif cheese.
if any one buys 4 or more Kelloggs cereal this week could you come back and report please if there is a catalina for free gallon of milk next trip? i have a full pg ad from the March Sunset magz that says it is running Feb 29- Mar 13 but didnt see it featured in their ad at all. It also includes Peets Coffee, Activia or Pure Yogurts, Poptarts, NutriGrain/SpecK/FiberPlus bars on the mix or match/buy 4 thing. It says it is for Natl Breakfast week which is Mar 4-10 but the promo dates say Feb 29-Mar 13. Thanks~

I can confirm Karen’s FREE Milk Cat in NoCa. I just rec’d it at Sfwy. “Thank you for celebrating Nat’l Breakfast Week with Kellogg’s, Dannon and Peet’s…Free (up to a $4 value) on the purchase of one gallon of milk at checkout x3-27-12”. No other purchase required to redeem milk cat. So, I did 2 separate transactions and got the free milk cat each time:
1st Transaction:
Bought 4 Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut O’s 4/$10
Used printable $4/4
Paid $6 and got a Free milk cat up to $4
2nd Transaction:
Bought 4 Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Flakes 4/$10
Used printable $4/4 (this exp today btw)
Paid $6 and got free milk cat again
Pricing valid til Tues. There were no signs indicating the cat promo

Thanks Endcapps! I have my $5/5 cpns I wanted to use this week but wondered maybe I should save them for next week if the milk catalina wasn’t going yet.
Jean says
Any idea if you can roll the $5 frozen food coupon to the next transaction? Say I buy $10 worth of CPK pizzas (my ad says $10, not $15) and then get a $5 coupon. Then buy a “new” frozen item plus something else “frozen” to get to another $10, can I use the $5 coupon from the 1st transaction and still get another $5 for spending $10? Does that make sense? Think it will work?
Endcapps says
You’re welcome, Karen! It’s a great deal. We go thru’ 2 gallons of milk/week and in NoCA there are very few milk deals. With this Sfwy Cat & last wk’s Facebook milk coupon, it’s a great time for milk deals. Thx for sharing your Sunset ad. I could’ve sworn I saw Activia yesterday priced $1.88. I may go back and try buying four, & hopefully the Cat prints again. My plan is to line-up enough free milks (either Cat or printable coupon) to not pay for milk until these promos end.
Endcapps says
Checked Sfwy this morning & the signs advertising the milk cat qualifiers are up. Eggos are qualifiers. Somehow there could be a way to work the frozen foods deal + the free milk cat. Hmmm, I will think on that. Some Rice Krispies have $5-worth of coupons hidden inside the box. Anyone know what they are? Rice Krispies might be a good deal with milk cat + $5/5 coupon + I think they qualify for that AARP $10 rebate(?). I picked up March Fresh Ideas. $.75 Fresh Express Spinach.
Lisa G. says
Endcapps, did you buy Activia to try to get the milk cat? I have a $1.88 personalized price on it, we buy it all the time. And someone just gave me another Activia coupon. I will try this later today or tomorrow I think. We go through at least 4 gallons/week (teenage boys) and are trying to just buy organic milk now (yikes!). I may try to do the cereal deal in a separate trip to see what happens. I’m in NorCal too.
Endcapps says
Hi Lisa G, I did not try 4 Activia…yet. I’m rooting around for $1/1 Activia insert coupons, and only found 3 🙁 But in looking at my (new & improved) Just for U list, I have Eggo Personal Price $2. So now I’m thinking: Buy 3 Activia & 1 Eggo. Use 3x $1/1 Activia coupons.
I need to get organized & try. I think everybody’s price =$1.88 on select Activia multipacks. There also was a $.99 single serve Activia w/granola. Anybody brave enough?
Organic milk 1gal is around $6 at my Sfwy NoCA! Wow! Like drinking gold!
Lisa G. says
Yep. O Organics is $6.19/gallon in Santa Cruz County. I’ll try buying Activia today and let everyone know how it goes. I’ll also buy Kellogg’s cereal in a separate transaction. Hopefully I’ll end up w/2 milk cats and pay around $4 OOP for 2 gallons of organic milk.
Lisa G. says
Well it didn’t work for me when I bought 4 Activia but I will call Catalina Marketing to see what’s up. I ended up not buying any cereal either as my Kellogg’s $4/4 coupon expired yesterday 🙁
Ashley says
I bought 4 eggos today, and it didnt work.
Endcapps says
Thx, Lisa G. for reporting back on Activia. Hoping you’ll still score milk cats. Looks like some cat qualifiers are not programmed properly into Sfwy’s system (ugh, so typical)
franki says
should’ve read this post before replying on the one dedicated to the free milk
one thing I saved for this thread is a $5 off $50 Safeway Recyclebank coupon.
apparently only for 2 CA stores (Morgan Hill) and several AZ stores. Have to click on little map on the right
http://www.recyclebank.com/reward/5-off-your-next-qualifying-grocery-purchase-of-50-or-more-3254
Trying to work out how to use it toward $75 and score all the CATs is, well, maybe not worth the headache !
Charlene says
Thank you Franki. Someone mentioned that coupon a long time ago but they are only available to use at that specific store that you mentioned. If you shop at any other store in the country, you can’t use those coupons.
I wish they would offer more of them!

Endcapps, I checked online for the Tony Tantillo March issue and it’s not available. Can you share where you were able to find it? I would love to stock up on some spinach 🙂
Charlene says
Joanna,
They are usually found in the produce areas but you really have to look everywhere because I find them tucked into weird corners. You can also ask the produce guys. Sometimes they are up at customer service but I have the best luck in the produce area.
-Charlene
Endcapps says
Joanna, like Charlene mentioned, Fresh Ideas Magazine hangs-out in Produce. I am in the East Bay, and I find mine in plastic holders near (1) tofu and (2) bagged salads. They’re at eye level. March issue has asparagus on the cover.
If it puts your mind at ease, the FE Spinach coupon in the Mar issue does NOT match-up to the Spinach that’s currently on sale. So you still have time to hunt for the magazine or wait for Tony T to put a printable up :). The coupon says “.75 off Fresh Express 9oz Spinach”
Based on Today’s online ad, the 9oz FE Spinach is $3.69-.75=$2.94 or .33/oz. The 6oz FE Spinach is sale priced $2.00 and no coupon needed to pay .33/oz. Hope that helps you

i went this morning to spend $75 and get the $10 catalina and I found some other deals:
I bought 2 – 32 packs of Friskies for $14.99 each (I had a $1 coupon off 2). I got a $2 catalina back from Friskies.
Also Wesson oil was $2.99 (had two .50 coupons) so bought 2
Star Olive Oils were on sale ($6.99) for 750 ml bottle
Some of the John Frieda hair sprays were on clearance (great if you have coupons) I love this brand.

The $4 Kraft Cheese & Dairy Cat printed for me. The Big Cheese BOGO overlaps & worked along with the Cat. Plus my J4U Personalized Prices worked! Shockingly, all 3 variables worked for this transaction:
3 Philly Cream Cheese blocks
4 Kraft Shredded Mozzarella (2 are free with BOGO)
Used $1.25/3 Philly from a pamphlet, $.50/2 cheese printable, and a $4 Cat for buying 5+ Kraft cheese/diary products printed.
