Well here is yet another update to the Step 2 table and chairs set. It looks like JC Penney is cancelling most orders after all. While that is a real bummer, the great news is that they have emailed those that placed orders a $50 gift certificate for your next $50 purchase!
Considering most of us spent $20 to get the table in the first place, I think this is more than generous myself.
Be sure to check your email carefully because inside you will find a unique coupon code you can use to get $50 off a $50 purchase.
Now I found this other Little Tikes table for outdoors priced at $60. Here is how my transaction worked out:
Little Tikes outdoor table set $60
Shipping $5.99 (this changes from $12.99 once you enter your code in)
Grand total after coupon code: $16.71!
Now this is not the same set but after my $50 gift certificate, I will actually spend just a few dollars less than I spent before ($16 vs $20) for a nice table and chairs set!
As of posting, Shop at Home has 9% back or Ebates has 3% back.

Yeah! Ok well I got the email from them with $50 in it but I used a gift card to pay and the gift card hasn’t been refunded yet.
Oh well so odd. Mine says it will ship tomorrow too! I guess I might have two tables :P. We will have to see.
i also got the email with the $50 coupon code in it…but after reading your comments, logged in and it also has my order listed as pending, with a ship date of 1/10. hmm! seems too good to be true!

I too got a $50 off $50 coupon. I paid with a debit card and would like to know when that will be refunded to me. My order is scheduled to be shipped on the 10th also, so we will see. I like the picnic table better than the other table anyways so I am ordering that too! Thanks for the continued updates.
Mine says cancelled & I got the 50$ off of 50$ future online purchase. I’m not complaining, but would have been nice to have the order fulfilled. Oh well, I’m still happy. Pls keep me posted of future awesome sale from JCP, I’m still a fan of your page and JCP! Thanks a bunch.

Denali, yes you should absolutely get a refund. As of right now we don’t know if they really blew it and gave us $50 and are still sending the table OR if maybe they just haven’t been able to process refunds? I am under the impression we got $50 in addition to a refund so I guess we just have to see. What a mess :).
I received an email that said they were honoring my purchase and where shipping my table. I haven’t received another email from them concerning the gift card so hopefully I get my table. Fingers crossed! Did anyone else get an email saying they were in fact shipping you order?
The ship date for people who are getting them is the 12th. Even if your originally was the 10th they never updated there systems but it stinks because if you ordered two like i did, one for me and one for a friend to save on the shipping we ordered together we only got the $50 credit. Now to get different tables we originally paid just over 30.00 including tax and we will have to pay seventy plus shipping. And now we would have to pay over $120 between us and apply the credit to get our purchases and thats if any are in stock. Not a good compromise in MY situation 🙁
They should issue you a refund in addition to the code. If you used debit, you might double check to see if it actually came out. It is possible that it was the pre-authorization and not the actual debit. I had to call customer service to get my rewards that I used credited back to me, and honestly, I was very unsatisfied with their customer service. They almost acted like I was wanting special treatment for wanting the rewards back. They kept saying “So you cancelled your order and now you want your rewards back?” Um, no! In the end they helped me out and made it right, just giving you a heads up that their on the phone customer service leaves much to be desired!
I have received a refund and the $50 off $50
I forgot to mention this, the ShopAtHome cashback is now 3% and not 9%.
I just checked my credit card statement and I have not been charged for the table and chairs. I just used the $50 certificate and that order amount is listed as pending on my credit card statement.
I was never charged for my order,and I did receive the email with the $50 credit.I checked on that past order and still saying ships today.I think they have not updated that.I do like this table better than the first one,so I’m happy!
I called because I paid with a GC to check the balance and it was not refunded. So then I called JC Penney and they said they are having problems crediting GC? The # 1-800-709-5777, they said they put a request in for my return.
I haven’t gotten an email about the 50 off 50 but I haven’t gotten any emails since placing the order and receiving the order confirmation email and it has the original ship date of 1/10. Weird. I hope to hear something soon!
Just checked JCP online and this picnic table is listed at $80.00 not $60.00. Confusing. I also received the email offering $50.00 off a $50.00 purchase. My original $20.00 has been refunded.
Thanks for the suggestion of this table–I think I like it better too:) Even better that it was cheaper with the $50 credit!! I paid with a GC too–when I talked to the customer support for that (it wasn’t credited either), they gave me a different 800# than Rachael said she called. When I called it, they said they would send me a refund check in the mail.
Penny- you are looking at a different table. There are two. The one you are looking at is much larger.

I got an email yesterday that said my order was cancelled and the 50 off 50, I checked my bank account for the 19.77 that was debited and it has disappeared. Disappointed but still happy.
I have not received any communication from them at all..when I checked the status of the order online, it still says “pending shipment”. I did notice that by now the authorization on my debit card went away… guess I’ll just wait and see!
This morning I received an email saying that my order had been canceled, but I never received an email for the $50 credit. I did order 2, so not sure if the canceled email was for 1 table, and I’m still getting 1, or they both have been…a little frustrated with JCP right now. 🙁
My order was pending shipment still last night when I checked. Then this morning I just got an email for mine that says my order was canceled and no $50 coupon either. 🙁 How disappointing. I figured at least I’d get the $50 credit.
I got an email cancelling my shipment and saying they would refund me, but I do not have a $50 coupon…i will be scouring my email… For those that got it, was it in the same email in which they cancelled?
Sheri- is there a chance you deleted the email or overlooked it? It came about a week ago and I believe everyone got one.
I got the cancellation email as well without a $50 coupon. Wondering if the $50 offer came in a different email or was it part of the cancellation notice?
Tawnya, as I mentioned in the post the $50 credit was a separate email. I have a feeling some people may have deleted the emails with the credit in it. This was posted on Jan 9th and that was the day my email arrived. The subject line of the email was “jcp order— patio and shade play set” and inside was a note and then you actually had to read it and scroll down and at the bottom was a larger note with a unique coupon code inside.
I suppose there is a chance that JC Penney decided to cancel some orders and only give some people credits but that would be really surprising to me. I looked at the email I got and it was something that would have been very easy to delete.
I also got the same email with no coupon so I emailed them back and complained about it. They emailed me back saying they sent some coupon codes out by email on Jan 9th and to check your trash and spam for that day. If you don’t find it there they said they sent the remainder by postal mail and I should receive it by Jan 20th.
My order was cancelled this morning. I called customer service and they said that orders that were cancelled late were going to be sent a letter via postal mail with the $50 off code in it. I was a little disappointed to not get the table but think JCPenney is going above and beyond to make this right.
Thanks for the info everyone. My order was just cancelled this morning so I’ll check my mail over the next couple weeks. Either way I’m not out anything, but I’m pretty impressed with the customer service JcPenney is giving here.
I got the cancellation today around 12:30pm CST. I did not get the $50 coupon by email so I’ll be watching the mail too. If they do send it I’ll be very impressed with their customer service!

My $50 credit came SNAIL MAIL today the 17th, not in an email. Look for that ladies!

Warning to All- Make sure when you use your Free $50 code that you are using it on something that you are going to keep because if you take it back they in NO WAY give you credit back to you on something else like a gift card to use later. You are just out of luck that’s what they are telling me.
