There are a few deals worth checking out at Big Lots! Remember, Big Lots does not accept coupons, but you can take your ad to Walmart or possibly Target to have them do a price match and use your coupons there. If you are not familiar with how this works there are details at the bottom of this post.
Now through 12/10, Big Lots has Leap Frog Tag Jr books on sale for $5! This is a great price for these books. But instead of picking them up at Big Lots, you might want to consider price matching them at Target. They would make great filler when you use the spend $50, get a $10 Target gift card coupon through Saturday. Remember you will need the actual ad from Big Lots in order to price match at Target. I did price match myself at Walmart for these books and there is a $6 price difference right now. I had to pull the ad up on my phone to show them.
Also, starting Sunday, Big Lots will have licensed wrapping paper on sale for $1.88 per roll. You can try to price match this at Target or Walmart as well, but they might only honor it for the wrapping paper actually pictured in the ad.

Now, if you are not familiar with how Big Lots works, here are the details:
- Big Lots does not accept coupons, so to get these deals you will have to price match at Target or Walmart.
- To price match at Target, you need to have the actual ad in hand and more often than not, Big Lots won’t send an ad in the Sunday paper. Walmart does not require the physical ad to price match.
- Not all Walmart stores will honor Big Lots as a competitor to price match, so it is always best to call ahead and confirm.
- The selection at Walmart and Target will vary.
- So basically your luck will really vary and your best bet on these deals is probably going to be at Walmart.

Can we use these books for tag reader (that looks like a pen)?
These are for the Tag Jr reader.
How many sqft are these wrapping paper?
Elise, the information in the post is the extent of what I know 😉 You can see the image does not have any specifics and I can’t tell you anything beyond what they have advertised.
There are $5/2 tag jr books peelie on a lot of the tag jr boxes. That makes them $2.50 each. Awesome deal!
I actually tried this deal yesterday at my Target and they said they don’t price match with Big Lots. It was the first time I have tried to price match w/ Target & I had a few items and boy were they a pain about it. Here I come Walmart. 🙂
Merrie- I really always assume Target will be a pain on price matching. I just hate doing it there. Sorry it didn’t work out 🙁
Lincy,
Yes, you can use the Tag Jr books with the Tag reader shaped like a pen. All of the books are compatible with the Tag reader (whereas the Tag Jr reader will only work with the Tag Jr books). I researched this last year before I bought a reader and decided to get the Tag reader so I didn’t have to buy a second reader when my son grew out of the Jr books.
@ Lincy- Yes, the pen will read these. But if you to use the Tag Jr. on a regular Tag book it wouldn’t work. Hope that helps! Kinda weird.
Thank you Daphyn and Lincy for the information and I bought tag reader books last week from Toys r us for 14.99 each and I am planning to return it.
Lincy, I don’t know the age of your child but the Tag Jr books are for children aged 1-3. They are very small, hard books. Even though they might work for both, it doesn’t seem the same to me. The normal Tag books are for children- so the Tag Jr I have for my 2 1/2 year old and she might even be a little too old for them. The Tag books both my 2 year old and 4 year old read. The Tag books are real books and the Tag Jr are just a few words per page.
