Here is the Toys R Us Black Friday ad for 2011. The stores will be opening at 9pm on Thanksgiving Day and they run until 1pm Friday.

I have been to Toys R Us on Black Friday myself and I went very late in the morning and found the store pretty wiped out. A few highlights I can see from this ad include:

  • Furreal Friends Butterscotch Pony $99
  • Leapfrog Leapster 2 $24.99
  • Moxie Girls Dolls $4.99 (regularly $10.99)
  • Disney Princess and Me Doll Outfits and Accessories starting at $8.99- Buy One Get One Free

  • Thomas and Percy Wooden Railway Set $17.99
  • Step 2 Push Buggy $29.99
  • V-Tech Bouncing Colors Turtle $14.99
  • Select DVDs $4.99

The first 100 shoppers will also get a coupon book with retail coupons inside.

In all of the Black Friday ads, I have yet to see any Nintendo DS items. Have you seen any yet?

I have decided not to go to stores before midnight- it’s so sad that the stores keep creeping the sales earlier and earlier. Now they’re so early it cuts into the time the employees get to spend with their families. ๐Ÿ™
Btw thanks for posting all the black Friday deals- I love that I can just go to one place and find them all:-)

I wonder if these deals are in store only or if you can get them online? I purchased some of the the buzz lightyear operation games that were on sale last week online and also got some other games, and I rec’d an email saying that the other games were ready for pickup but have yet to receive an email telling me the buzz games are ready for pick up. Guess that means they do not have them!??! I’ve never done the store pickup. Charlene, did you buy the buzz games online or go to your store and purchase them? Thanks!

Do these sales work online too or only in store?

Joni the ad seems to imply they will have deals online. Toys R us shipping tends to be extremely high so most people would probably want Shoprunner. We really won’t know until the sale starts what exactly they will offer online. It will be the same for almost every store running a Black Friday ad.

If stores open at 9 p.m. PST and you live in CA is that the earliest you can shop for the deals online?

Mel, I don’t have any idea at all what they will have online or if they will have anything at all online. If you don’t want to go to the store, you just have to wait and see what happens. I know Walmart tends to offer a lot of the ad items online and I know the hardware stores do as well and that is all I remember from last year.

I find it amazing how on of the year when we are supposed to be thankful for what we have. The stores are all promoting greed. Now these stores have taken over Thanksgiving itself. This is definately not the types of values I would like to instill in my children. There is nothing in those stores that I need so badly that I am willing to expose my children to the type of behavior that is exhibited in those stores for. I will not be participating in the Black Friday Sales We will still be being Thankful for what we have in our home and not longing for what we want.

Amy, I think that there is an unpleasant element for sure involved in big sales like this so I understand your perspective. The same can be said for couponing- I see some pretty shocking things when I am out and about or on the blog.

I do just want to say that I think it is easy to judge and we really don’t have any idea what other people’s situation is so I try to just live my life how I want and let others live how they want. There are many families that simply don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in the way that you do so maybe just keep that in mind. Not everyone has big families that have a nice celebration- there are many, many people that spend Thanksgiving completely alone. I know when I was younger and worked retail I loved working the holidays because of the extra income. I was paying my way through college and it helped to make ends meet so hopefully there are people that are benefiting in a positive way.

So I won’t be going out to stores myself because I don’t care for the chaos but I don’t think we have the right to call others greedy if they decide to go out shopping ๐Ÿ˜‰ I know I have friends that get together with family members and make a sport of the madness- that is not my choice personally but it certainly doesn’t make them bad people or bad role models for their children.

I suspect most people are not intending to take small children out in the middle of the night to shop but I guess you never know. It sounds like you have a wonderful day planned with your kids and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
