Lowe’s and Home Depot will each have a free kid’s workshop on Saturday 12/3. I wanted to give you ample time to plan because the Lowe’s workshops tend to fill up very early.
Lowe’s will be building a Caboose. This will be the first part of the Build and Grow train. You come back each week to build the next piece and complete the train. Lowe’s clinics start at 10AM and you must register before going to the clinic. (These fill up way in advance!)
Home Depot will be building Snowman Napkin Holders. These look very cute and they scream gift for Grandma to me. The clinics run from 9AM-Noon and there is no need to register before the clinic.
These activities are completely free and all the necessary supplies should be provided. Plus they get aprons and other little extras.
I took wood shop in high school and my Dad still has all the little things that I made all around his house. I have to say some of the projects I did have totally held up after all these years and I love seeing them when I go to visit.
***Just a reminder there is a Lowe’s clinic on Saturday but most areas might already be filled up.

Nicole, they say 5 and up, but my 3 year old does great with our help. They don’t turn away younger kids.
Charlene, do you know what day they first put the sign ups online for Lowe’s? I just checked the other day and the caboose wasn’t on there. Now of course the caboose is all filled up at all the stores around me. I want to be able to sign up when they first are available. Any ideas?

@nicole,when you go to the registration page, it says “Recommended age for attendees: Grades 1st – 5th.” I was thinking about taking my 3-year-old, but I feel like that’s quite a difference between the recommended age.
