There is a nice deal on a Brother Printer right now from Office Max. I have a similar printer that has worked out really well for a few years now.

This is a laser printer- it is designed for fast printing but it is only black and white. You need to replace the toner cartridge- and I find I replace them about 4x a year with heavy printing.

I have a Brother printer too and it works great. When it shows the toner is low, I put tape over the windows (on the sides) and get a lot more use out of it. I also buy toners from ebay for around $20 each when I buy several at a time. I must not do as much printing as you because a toner will last me close to a year or at the most 2/year. 🙂
