Well here we are again. I mentioned the great deal on Skippy Peanut Butter yesterday at Safeway stores. I even went to the store and snapped a little picture so no one would think I was crazy.
And I heard from a few of you that headed right out and got the deal. Well as of today it appears that Safeway is raising prices once again. I just popped back into my Safeway and the Skippy peanut butter is no longer priced at $1.59 but rather $2.59 each when you buy 4.
There should still be a Skippy catalina on the natural pb only for $1 back when you buy 2. I don’t feel that $2.09 is a good price- especially since you can get it for cheaper from Amazon all the time.
So unless you really, really need peanut butter it is probably too late to get the super deal.
I know it makes me cranky to feel rushed to race out to a store and get a deal. Especially when prices should run for the entire week. This is the second time Safeway has done this in the last few week’s so either they are selling way more than they anticipated or they are making pricing errors that take a little time to correct.
On the upside, I did check and Bertolli is still priced at $1.49 when you buy 4. There are several Bertolli coupons still available- including $1.50 off 4 jars so you can get that for as low as $1.12 per jar this week.

the Bertolli sauce that you took a picture of is great to make a quick scalloped potato dish. I made some last week and they were sooo good. Sliced potatoes, chopped ham and that cheese sauce baked… I know that’s off topic but…
PS – irritating about Safeway. I’m so fed up with their cashiers not knowing how to ring these up and the coupons not coming off the bill… so frustrating !!

I saw that today, and was wondering if it was just my Safeway. Guess not. Pisses me off quite a bit, since I was able to find coupons on eBay, and was hoping they would get here in time to use them. Grrrrr…..

My Safeway (Sacramento-Natomas) still has them marked at $1.59ea when you buy 4. Also, check your personalized price because I have Skippy for $1.90, so today I went in to test it and I bought 4 that rang up as $1.90ea then took off the $4.00 for buying 4. Paid $3.60 for all 4 plus got 2 $1 catalinas back. So, $1.60 for 4 Skippy Naturals!
Got 4 when it was at 1.59 wyb4 and got 2 $1 cat, when i return yesterday it was so annoying that they changed the price to 2.59.
Instead i got 4 wish bone dressings at 1.99 wyb4 and there was a lot of Q’s of $1off on any 2 wish bone dressings in a little dispenser and I stil had the 1.50 off on any wish bone dressing on my Just 4 U account, so
used 2 1/2
used 1.50 from just 4 U
paid 4.46 for all 4 or 1.11 each not bad since it is a decent size 😉
OH man…I just bought these, thinking I was getting the above pictured deal but didn’t…I bought them for 2.59…stink that’s expensive pb (15 ounce for 2.09).
I actually got this deal from another site, that mentions this site…I hope they update too…maybe I can figure out who…

I was rushing when I went in today and ended up buying 4, thinking that they $4 would come off the $2.59…and then I read your update 🙁 I did get 2 – $1 cats, but still more than I would have paid if I thought it through. Oh well, can’t win them all. Thanks for all you do Charlene!
P.S. I did get the $1 cat for the Digiorno today as well. Maybe they are running until the end of the month??
