Safeway Deals 9/21-9/27

09/20/2011

Share

You can see Safeway’s coupon policy right here. Most stores will allow you to stack a manufacturer coupon with the store coupons that can be found in the weekly circulars. You will want to be sure to get a club card for Safeway to take advantage of the sale prices! Safeway sale prices tend to vary from region to region so you will always want to double check your local ad! Also, I do not have double coupons in my area so your prices are likely much better than mine!Be sure to read about the new Just for U program rolling out at Safeway!

…Click Below to See the Complete List of Safeway Deals….

There was an advertisement that if you buy 2 VIA’s at Safeway you will get a $5 gc to target. The add was in one of the coupon inserts that the VIA coupon was in.

courtney September 20, 2011 at 8:04 PM

I bought two Starbucks VIA at Pavilions (which is the same as vons/safeway) and got a catalina for a $5 giftcard!

Nicole September 20, 2011 at 8:07 PM

I had the following cat info print recently.
Enjoy a $5 starbucks card egift
Buy any 2 packages of Starbucks coffee b/w 9/5 and 10/2 at this participating store and receive a code at checkout good towards a $5 Starbucks card egift redeemable online. must be purchased in one trip

Sounds like an egift can be used for any purchase in store or added to a Starbucks card!

Stephanie September 20, 2011 at 8:11 PM

For the cheese deal do people freeze cheese? That is a great deal. I’m wondering how much I should get…

Jennifer Brown September 20, 2011 at 8:30 PM

Is there a current Certolli catalina at safeway right now?

Joni September 20, 2011 at 8:39 PM

I’ve frozen cheese before. Personally, I think it changes the texture a bit, so if you’re going to eat it right out of the package, I wouldn’t freeze it. But if you’re going to use it in a recipe I think that’s o.k.

Charlene September 20, 2011 at 8:46 PM

Ok I mentioned that egift card above and it is supposed to be on Via or bag coffee. @Stephanie, I don’t really like frozen cheese unless it is shredded and like Joni said it is ok if you use in things. The bricks of cheese will last a long time if they are sealed you just need fridge space.

Jennifer Brown September 20, 2011 at 8:56 PM

That was Bertolli Catalina….earlier…wow…it’s LATE!

Barbie September 20, 2011 at 8:58 PM

CVS has the Starbucks Via for $4.99 this week so even a better deal with that $2 coupon.

shelly September 20, 2011 at 9:35 PM

Was the Lipton Ice Tea coupon regional? I can’t find it. Thanks.

Charlene September 20, 2011 at 9:45 PM

Jennifer- I have a cat announcement but it doesn’t say how many you have to buy. It just has a recipe on it.

Dina September 20, 2011 at 10:38 PM

For the Bertolli cat…I bought two & received a $1 catalina.

cheryl September 21, 2011 at 4:38 AM

Stephanie- as the earlier comment said yes it does change the texture for eating it right out of fridge but i have put it back in fridge from freezer all sliced or shredded types i’ve used but on grilled cheeses, pizzas, tortillas anything warm it works and tastes the same.

Claire September 21, 2011 at 6:33 AM

what packages of cheese have the real dairy symbol? I shop at Genuardis and I have looked on most of the lucerne cheeses and I never see any. Thanks Charlene for the match ups as always!

Charlene September 21, 2011 at 6:45 AM

All of the larger Lucerne cheeses have the seal out here. I have not seen it on the slices but the 32oz bricks for sure.

Lisa G. September 21, 2011 at 8:41 AM

Check your personalized Just4U deals. I have a price of$1.48 for the 32 oz. size Lucerne cheese! It doesn’t have a limit attached, and it’s through 9/27.

Jolene September 21, 2011 at 9:14 AM

I also have the same $1.48 that is a crazy price, I wonder if it is a typo or something. Im soo going to print my list incase they change there mind. So with the $.55 that is $.93 for 32 oz!!!!

Jenell September 21, 2011 at 9:27 AM

I also found a $4 off a Bertolli frozen meal in my Just For U account. This would make it, $1.50 after the buy 8 promo.

Carrie September 21, 2011 at 1:18 PM

Can we use the 1.00 off two Philadelphia Cream Cheese if it is BOGO?

jennifer September 21, 2011 at 1:51 PM

Jenell – there is also a $1.00 off coupon for the Bertolli Frozen soup – so $0.50.

Nicole September 21, 2011 at 5:18 PM

I have a personal price of $1.88 for Kraft cream cheese. The BOGO sale is perfect timing for me!!

Elky September 21, 2011 at 10:45 PM

My personalized price for the 1 gal milk is $2.69, limit 2 but when i add it to my shopping lists it shows as $3.19. I saw readers questioning the sale last week but had no issues then. I wonder what will happen if I buy it tomorrow…

Endcapps September 22, 2011 at 9:17 AM

Charlene, regarding the Bertolli $2 Catalina, I experimented today:
Bought 4 Bertolli Sauce (Tomato Basil) & $2 Catalina printed, x10/06

Also, Lucerne Cheese Finely Shredded Mozzarella is $1.79 in the mix and match sale. It has the CA Cheese seal. The $.55 insert coupon beeped. I pointed out the seal on both the cheese & the coupon. Cashier accused me of sticking the seal on the cheese myself. Really?! Anyway, I called the Mgr and got my cheese for 1.29. (The CA Cheese seal is on selected Lucerne Shredded Mozzarella & selected Shredded Cheddar)

Blinkies $1/2 any Golden Grain Pasta making it $.39 each w/mix & match sale. Still no Joy of Football booklets in sight.

Charlene September 22, 2011 at 9:34 AM

Well technically they can refuse the coupon if it beeps so it is an iffy deal. But those Real CA will probably always beep because there is nothing to attach them too. So many products carry that seal. Anyway, good find- that is a great price for cheese.

Lisa G. September 22, 2011 at 4:38 PM

To Our Valued Customer:
The Lucerne Chunk Cheese, 32oz advertised in our email sent on Sept. 21 was inadvertently priced incorrectly. The correct price is $4.99. This offer will be valid until 9/27/11.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

If you have any questions, please call the Customer Service Center at 1-877-SAFEWAY.

Thank you for shopping with Safeway.com.

Sincerely,
Safeway Customer Service Team

Should have gone yesterday lol. But $4.99 and the Real CA coupon is still a great deal!

Lori September 22, 2011 at 7:53 PM

We rarely see the CA milk coupon on the East Coast here. I look for it every time I am at Safeway, but I have only seen it once, almost a year ago, and it was on the larger blocks of cheese.

Endcapps September 23, 2011 at 3:00 PM

Elky, I have the same problem with 1 gallon milk going from $2.69 up to $3.19. Well, today I bought milk and it scanned $3.09. Ugh, I knew Sfwy would retract! I called Sfwy (1-877-Safeway) to inquire. They apologized saying they’re retracting the $2.69 personalized price. I will be seeing a $2 Credit for this inconvenience the next time I purchase anything with my store card; I think it’s called “Make it Right” one-time store credit. So, I would suggest you call and at least get a $2 apology.

Lesson is: When Sfwy gives a too-good-to-be true personalized price, it probably IS .. so jump on it that very day!

Endcapps September 23, 2011 at 3:08 PM

From my Buy 8 Mix & Match purchase today, I got some nice surprises. My Bertolli Frozen Soup rang (-$1.00) and Sfwy Select Ice Cream $1.38 (personalized price & paper coupon from Frozen Food Booklet).

Wendy September 23, 2011 at 5:26 PM

This wont work for everyone but be on the lookout for Golden Grain pasta blinkies. The pasta is on sale for .89 this week on the buy 8 promotion. I found blinkies for $1.00/2 so .39 each.

Lisa G. September 23, 2011 at 5:49 PM

I was fortunate enough to get the $2.69 milk last week. 2 gallons was the limit. I went on 2 separate days.

Wendy September 23, 2011 at 7:26 PM

Charlene, one more thing on the Golden Grain pasta. I was able to sign up in their web site for emails and got a .55/1 coupon emailed to me within a few hours.

Charlene September 23, 2011 at 7:39 PM

Thanks Wendy, I was actually going to Safeway and found exactly what you were talking about.
