Safeway: Nature Valley Thins $.49/box

I popped into Safeway today to double check the prices on the new Buy 4, Save $4 promotion. Keep in mind these prices were not listed in the ad so you may find a little variation in your store. At my store all the prices I listed in the Safeway deals were correct and I found two other items I wanted to mention:

Nature Valley Granola Thins are priced at $1.49 when you buy 4 items (mix and match)
Use ย $0.50/1 Nature Valley Granola Thins printable
or Use $.50/1 Nature Valley Granola Thins printable
or Use $0.75/1 Nature Valley Granola Thins, exp. 10/1/11 (GM 08/07/11)
Final Price: as low as $.74 per box without doubles or .49 with doubles!

The Nature Valley Granola Bars were marked at $1.99- there is an in ad coupon to get them for $1.79 this week.
I am wondering if the Buy 4, Save $4 will overlap with the $1.79 price from the in ad coupon? If it does, they would be $.79 before any other coupons are used… I will try this after Zumba tonight and let you know how it goes for me.
Didn’t work. But I only spotted a few boxes of bars included in the promotion.

Also, Chex Mix and Lucky Charms treats are priced at $1.49 when you buy 4 items (mix and match)
Use $0.50/1 Lucky Charms, Golden Grahams or Chex Mix Treats or Milk โ€˜n Cereal Bars, exp. 10/1/11 (GM 08/07/11)
or Use $0.50/1 Lucky Charms Treats, Golden Grahams Treats, Chex Mix Treats, or Milk โ€˜n Cereal Bars printable
or Use $0.50/1 General Mills Lucky Charms Treats, Golden Grahams Treats, Chex Mix Treats or Milk โ€˜n Cereal Bars, exp. 9/3/11 (SS 07/10/11)
Final Price: $.99 without doubles or .49 with doubles

I would love to know if the Granola bars and the Chex mix bars are part of the buy 4 save $4. Also, if you buy 8 or 12 will it take off the $4 for each lot of 4 items you get?? Thanks so much. take care. dawn

    Dawn,

I don’t understand the first part of your question but to the second part it should be $4 for every set of 4 purchased.

Are the Golden Graham treats part of the deal? If so, did you see a price for them?

Anna they should be but I did not specifically look for that product when I was there.

I just bought 8 boxes of the granola thins, 4 boxes of chex cereal, 8 sun rype strip/squiggles, 2 boxes of golden grain spaghetti and a banana (I know random, 1 banana) for $9.13 at Safeway!
    Whoot, whoot!

    Hi,
I was curious how you all use two of the same coupons on each like item in one transaction? The Safeway in northern Virginia has such an issue with coupons in general, but they told me I could only use one coupon per like item (i.e. 2 boxes of same cereal). Also does Safeway let you use a manufacturer coupon and their store coupons from their ad? Sorry for questions that have probably already been answered, but I am trying to really understand how you all save so much! I use coupons whenever I can, but I feel like somehow they didn’t work correctly or something. Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m sorry Charlene for the confusion. I just wanted to know when you find out if the $4 for 4 on the Granola Thins will overlap with the inad coupon I would love to know the answer to that when you find out. That’s all. Thanks. Sorry again. Take care.

Jen I posted it awhile back- they are .33 each. Use the BOGO coupon and pay $.17.

Ok so the Granola thins are $1.49 and the in ad coupon is $1.79. If you use the in ad coupon you pay $.30 more ๐Ÿ™‚ I was thinking it might overlap with the Buy $4 for the bars but I tested it and it did not. Only some of the bars were priced at $1.49 and the majority of the bars were not included in the sale. Odd.

Elizabeth, yes you can stack the store coupons and manufacturer coupons per the coupon policy. I don’t know why your store is a stinker- I never hear about stores limiting to one like. That is terrible. I guess you can mix and match your cereal- like 2 Chex and 2 Cheerios.

I immediately went to Safeway a number of hours ago after I saw this post because my husband goes through these thins like there’s no tomorrow. At my store, the granola thins are $1.99 wyb 4 but the treats are the same ($1.49) as you had reported. Still a great deal. Can’t complain!

@ my store I found Ragu Pasta sauce included in the Buy 4 save $4 promotions….They were originally 2/$3 but if you buy 4 they end up being $0.50! so I bought 8 jars ( the garden combination is my fave!!) After the promotion total was $4 but I used 4- $1 off 2 coupons (can’t remember what insert this was from) making my total of of pocket $0.00 Free pasta sauce!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ FYI I’m in Texas…hope everyone else can find this deal ๐Ÿ™‚

Elizabeth, I have a store like that near me too. The Tom Thumb 2 blocks east of me would never let me use more than 2 “like” coupons. So, I started shopping at the one 2 blocks west of me… and no problems. Weird, I know!
