Just a reminder about the Gain soap deal I mentioned last week. I did go do the deal myself and it worked perfectly for me.

Final Price: Free with doubles or .49

Use $2/1 from 7/17 RP
Final Price: $3.99
Gain Fabric Softener $2.99
Use $.50/1 from 8/14 RP
Final Price: $1.99 with doubles or $2.49 without
In addition, there is a catalina printing for $3 back when you buy 1 Gain Laundry soap and 2 other Gain items (through 8/26)
So here is what I did today:
Buy 2 Gain Dish Soap $.99
Buy 1 Gain Laundry Soap at $4.99
Pay $6.97 and get back $3 catalina without coupons
If you have coupons the price would be $4.97 without doubles or $3.97 with doubles before catalina.
So basically this is a good deal even without coupons but with coupons it is really fantastic. I bought the 3 items pictured above and the catalina worked perfectly for me.
It looks like some people are getting $2 catalina coupons and that might have something to do with the varieties of products purchased- you might try to stick with original scent dish soap because for sure that one works.

Just a quick note to say Thank You for posting the scenario in case we don’t have the coupons. What I really needed was the dryer sheets…so I bought 1 liquid detergent, 1 dryer sheets & 1 dish soap and the $3 catalina printed fine. I did this deal twice and I did not get the original scented dish soap.
Stacy, there are a few flavors of dish soap so I am not sure if that is the issue or not- it is just a thought. You may have purchased another variety that is working so sharing exactly which variety of soap you purchased would be helpful.
Jen me too 😉 I did it without coupons today myself. We have our hands full right now so it is not the end of the world to pay $2 extra and save myself from the mental institution 😛

Do you know if this would work at Genuardi’s as well? I didn’t see anything in the ad, so I’m guessing not, but I know some Safeway deals also work at Genuardi’s?
Morsels, you will have to check your store. The Gain deal was actually featured in a supplemental ad about a week ago and was supposed to end the 17th or something but the actual signs in store show the 23rd for Safeway. The catalina for sure should print but I don’t know about the Buy 3 Save $3 prices.
I only had one insert from last weekend so I bought 1 dish soap, 1 fabric sheets, and 1 liquid detergent. I used a coupon for each, and doubled them all up to $.50 cents. I paid $3.47 and received a $3 cat 😀
Can you roll the $3 catalina towards another Gain laundry soap deal and get another $3 catalina? Has anyone tried it? I’m thinking of doing this tonight. Thanks!

i also did dish soap, liquid detergent and fabric softner and the cat printed no problem, i bought all original scents. i was getting low on fabric softner and waiting for good deal. i also did 2 softner and detergent and got $3 cat 🙂

Jan, at Safeway 99.9% of the time you can. On this offer you can. It is really only Walgreens that has that stupid rule.

Cdao- the one I bought is for HE. They had 2 scents for HE.
I did it at genuardis and it worked! My detergent was 5.99 not 4.99 but still good deal.

i tried this deal in manteca ca sunday and it didnt work for me. Maybe because i didnt but the original scent, but i didnt think it made a different (and they were all out of original scent). the cashier told me there was a limit on the catalinas and that she hasnt seen them coming out of every transaction, so maybe the scent does have something to do with it. I still have enough coupons to do 3 transactions, so i think i will try again this evening.
Lupe- just call catalina and ask for your coupon to be mailed. I think someone else said the Mango Tango or whatever works but there is a brand new apple flavor that is causing a problem.
I also had no luck. I live in sugarland tx. I bought 2 dish soaps, and 1laundry detergent and no catalina printed. I tried it twice at two randalls

Bought the Lavender Detergent and 2 Apple Dish Soaps and no Cat last night. Returned them this morning, and repurchased Original Detergent and 2 Original Dish Soap, and got the $3 Cat. So, not sure if it is the Detergent or the Dish Soap (original) that is the ‘trigger’…….
