Staples: Teacher Appreciation Day 2011

07/21/2011

If you are a teacher and you are not familiar with Teacher Appreciation Day at Staples it might be worth checking out. They have one day in July or August for each store that teachers can go in and get a thank you gift bag and coupons.

The gift bag is only for the first 100 teachers per store but the coupons might be worth a trip.  I checked at my local store and Teacher Appreciation Day is August 13th.  You can just head over to Staples.com to see when your Teacher Appreciation Day is scheduled.

Also I am sure most of you know this but if you are a teacher there should be higher limits on all the great Back to School deals we are seeing at the office supply stores.  Most people are limited to 2 or so items but if you show your teacher ID you should have a much higher limit.

Has anyone gone already and can you share what you got?

The event in the Phoenix area is on August 6th. It is a really great event for all teachers.

I cannot find where on the website it is listing the teacher appreciation days. Where do I need to be looking?

I teach at a small private school that does not issue teacher i.d.’s so I am hoping that they believe me or will accept seeing a paystub or something.

In Columbia, SC, on Decker Blvd, the event is July 30. Unfortunately, this is the only store in the area, so it’s almost impossible to be one of the first 100. Even without the free bag, there are still good deals. And an employee told me that we can get up to 25 of the $.01 items, but not the others. That was great for the pencils! And if you’re a teacher, sign up for the Staples Rewards card. It gets us cash back!

This event is on my calendar every year! The coupons are hit or miss (my first year they were great, the second year not so great, and so on), and the goodie bag they give you is nice!

I have been hitting up the staples deals for the past couple of years. If you show your teacher ID, the limit is raised to 25. I always ask when I walk in, just in case, but haven’t really had much of a problem with getting 25 of any of the deals.

Jen, What happens when you click the link provided in the post? Does that not take you directly there?

I have had no problem showing my letter of intent to be able to home school & getting the 25 of the penny deals.
The teacher appreciation day for Lynchburg, VA is Aug 20th. Hope I’m one of the first 100 in that day!!

Sadly this year staples is only waiving the limits on the one cent items (which are few) rather than all of the great bargains….

And in Burbank, Ca the date is August 6
