so is it a limit of 2 per person or can you go back multiple times during the week?
Amy A says
The Staples ad is great untill you read the fine print. If you look at the “fine print” it states that you have to make a minimum $5 purchace to get these prices. I am part of a group trying to buy school supplies for 210 kids (Kinder thru 5th) who attend an extremely underprivileged school. The thought behind the prices is WONDERFUL, I just wish It didn’t come with such a high stipulation.
Katie says
I would say it is a limit of 2 per person (give everyone a chance!), but if you are not using your staples rewards card, then I suppose there is no way of tracking it, and you could go back again later in the week. Except for the rebate items, which they will not honor more than the limit which is per household.
Nikke says
I know that at my store you can go back several times during the week and they don’t keep track of who bought what but I have seen people just do multiple orders and they not say anything though I feel that it is cheating in a sense since it does say limit 2. I usually take whoever is available to go that day so we can all check out with the items I need.

I noticed on the ad that when you purchase the penny items, you have to spend $5.00. This is different from their prior penny school specials.
Krystal says
For the .01 items do you have to spend a certain amount to get them at that price?
Charlene says
Krystal, yes those require $5 purchase. I can’t see any minimums on the other items but the ad is pretty hard to read online.
Charlene says
Amy, Teachers typically have a higher limit on the cheap stuff. You might want to go in and talk to your store about your organization and see if they will extend the teacher discount to you.
Charlene says
Kristi- I think like the others said. There will be TONS of deals and really you are talking pennies here. Like the glue is $.01 but at Target they have it all the time for .20 so unless you need 100 of them it isn’t a big difference 😉 I don’t think they can track it so if you wanted say 4 or something you could probably go in a few days later and it isn’t a big deal. You don’t want to be the turkey they make fun of in the breakroom though so no changing clothes in the car and going back through the line 26 times 😛
I guess I’d just feel out your store. Some might have tons and tons of product and then some might run out the first day.
Julie says
Just an idea on how to reach the $5 limit to get the penny deals. The paper is more than $5 a ream. But, after you get your rebate $$ back, it only cost .25 a ream AND you were able to get the penny deals. But, that’s assuming you can afford the initial pay out and wait 4-6 weeks for the rebate $$.
Sylvia says
What great timing! I have Staples Rewards expiring at the end of July; I’ll be able to get most of my kids’ school supplies without having to open my wallet.
Kelsey says
Last year the limit for teachers was 25. All you have to do is show your ID badge or a pay stub and they will honor it. This is great because I work in a low income school and most kids don’t bring supplies and the school budget no longer includes buying classroom supplies for teachers. I always try and stock up on extra paper and pencils when these deals come out. Thanks!
Amy says
At my store the teacher limit was 25 only on the 1cent items. The 25 cent items were limit 2 even for teachers which was a bummer because I wanted to get a class set of the pencil boxes.
michelle says
I just went to Staples today and teachers do get a limit of 25 on both the $.01 and the $.25 items. I maxed out the $.01 items and to reach the $5.00 min I got the paper for $5.99 but it has a $5.74 rebate. So I got 25 glues, 25 eraser packs and 25 packs of pens plus a ream of paper for 7.25 out of pocket and I will be getting a 5.74 rebate. Total cost 1.51.
