    the computer/register wouldn’t let me combine the manufacturing coupon with the up rewards, since the price would have been free. I wasn’t sure what to do, and I talked to the manager, and she said that she didn’t know what to do either. This was in the bay area northern california, so I’m not sure what to do. Please Help. This was the for the toothpaste, which should have given me a credit and make it a moneymaker, but they wouldn’t let it go past 0

    @zoheb
    Zero balance requires a manager override and some clerks will strongly encourage you to buy something else to avoid this
    but it is possible
    a negative balance is not
    toothpaste is 2.57-$2 and there are no .57UPs to use as payment so going to assume you tried to pay with a $1UP?
    You’d have to pay .57 cash
    Other possibilities are that your coupon doesn’t work for that item (see Charlene’s note)
    or that your register is “beep-y”. I sometimes have beeping for legit coupons & even an UP reward. I’m in norcal too.

    HTH
    Happy 4th everyone
