Donating Your Expired Coupons…

07/10/2011

Just a quick reminder that you can donate any expired coupons you might have to overseas military families.

Many military members stationed overseas don’t have access to coupons and they can use them at the commissary after they have expired.

So this is a very simple thing to do to support our military and their families.  They can use the coupons up to 6 months after they expire but you will want to try and mail them within a few weeks of their expiration.

You can send your coupons to the Overseas Coupon Program.  You will need to fill out a very short form to adopt a base and then you will hear from someone with the details of where you can send your coupons.

Yes! Don’t throw those coupons away! Recycle….I have used this program for three years now. I was bummed to see that I was not posted on their site but I know they are being used! I have sent over $60K worth over from people all over the US.

can we send store coupons as well, or only MFR coupons?

I send them to a family in Japan, also hooked up with a group that mails them out. Lots of places to look

Can we send store coupons and printable ones as well?

Charlene July 11, 2011 at 11:21 AM

Nat, My understanding is just manufacturer coupons. I believe they use them at the Commissary so I wouldn’t think store coupons would work.

I too have hooked up with an in individual family and she shares those she doesn’t use. My boss is nice enough to pay the postage to mail as I do one or two envelopes a day. So nice to help a military family in a small way.

You can also go through CouponsToTroops, who will match you up with an overseas family and you can mail directly to them. That way you know your coupons are getting into the hands of a family who wants and will use them. Just send us an email at admin@couponstotroops.com or check out our Facebook page for more information. http://www.facebook.com/CouponsToTroops

Im thinking of pitching this to my local church just not sure how.
I think its an easy way to help our troops

Mike, if you’d like to be put in touch with an overseas military family for your church to mail coupons to, you can send an email to admin@couponstotroops.com (or coupons2troops@gmail.com) and request a match up! Right now we have a lot of families who are hoping to receive coupons from back here in the states!
