This is the culmination of a few stops this week.

SAFEWAY: $33.10

4 Seattle’s Best Lattes $1.25- Used (4) free item coupons
Total Raisin Bran $4.88- Free Safeway coupon from Just 4 U
Safeway Ketchup $3.39- used free item coupon from Safeway home mailer
Safeway Taco Shells $1.99- used free item coupon from Safeway home mailer
Cheez Its Colby flavor $1.99- used $.70 coupon= $1.29
2 Hormel Veggie Chili $.89- used $.55/2 coupon= .62 each
La Victoria Salsa $2.99- used $2 coupon= .99
Buttermilk $1.59
3 bags frozen veggies $.99
4 Dannon Yogurt 4pks $1.49- used (4) $1 coupons= $.49 each
3 Tillamook Cheese $6.60
Organic Eggs $3.39- special Just 4 U price
Mushrooms $2.00
Organic salad Mix $3.00- used $1 Just 4 U coupon and used $1/5 produce coupon= $1
Blue Cheese Crumbles $3.49
Donation to Prostrate Cancer $1

I also had a $10/50 home mailer coupon from Safeway. I think they send them to areas where competitive grocery stores are opening because I never got these before. The ketchup and taco shells will go to donation since we don’t need them. Β I decided to stock up on the cheese just to get up to $50 to use the $10 off coupon.

CVS: $3.92

I decided the $5/20 CVS coupon was a good way to stock up on drinks for a party we have coming up.

4 12pks Coke $13.00
2 Colgate Toothbrushes $2.79
Donation to some charity $1

Used $5/20 CVS coupon, used (2) $1 Colgate coupons, and used 2 $1 Coke coupons from Recyclebank and $10 in ECBs. Paid $3.92 and got back $7 in ECBs!
Note this deal would have been better but there is an extra $2.40 in taxes on the soda I had to pay.

Safeway $6.01

4 Seattle’s Best Lattes $1.25- used 4 free item coupons
3 Salads $2.99- used $1 produce coupon

I think the coffee coupons had a little overage which went toward the salads.

Raley’s $4.40

Strawberries- free with Raley’s coupon
Baguette- free with Raley’s coupon
2 Kim and Scott’s pretzels $2.00 each
6 Seattle’s Best Lattes $1.59- used free item coupons
POM Juice $2.50- used free item coupon
Lipton Tea $1.00- used free item coupon

I paid $.40 in extra tax on the drinks.

Target $19.89

Capri Sun 100% Juice $2.54- used $1 coupon= $1.54
2 Bagel Bites $2.69-used $1 Target coupon and $1 manufacturer coupon= $.69
2 NYC Polish $.87- used $1/2 coupon= $.37 each
Nexcare Bandaids $1.68- used $1 coupon and $.55 coupon= $.13
Bubbles $.99
2 Dr Scholl’s $6.99- used (2) $1 Target coupons, and used (2) $2 coupons= $7.98
2 Mott’s Natural Applesauce $1.72 each
Lipton Tea 1.58- used free item coupon
2 Swiss Tea $1.58- used $.55/2 coupon= $2.61

Total is $18.81 plus $1.08 in taxes and I have a $5 gift card back from Dr Scholl’s for next time.

The grand total was $67.32 and I have $5 in a Target gift card and $7 in ECBs left. Β Some of these items don’t count toward my grocery budget, so minus that stuff and I spent about $58 this week.

Just wondering what service you use/used to get all of the Seattle’s Best free item coupons? Thanks.

Yesterday I ran into to Raleys to get some chicken and the free strawberries and I noticed the coke display in the front had red coke books with coupons in them. They have $1/2 coke products and a bunch of other coupons. As well as a $10 off code for Southwest flights and $2 off a small soda at AMC theaters. I’ll send a pic when I get a chance.

How did you get your Safeway to allow you to use the free coupon on the Seattle’s Best Iced coffees? Mine won’t let me use “free” coupons, according to their coupon policy.

Great job! I noticed 14 free Seattle’s Best Coffee in there. πŸ˜‰ I know you don’t get that many papers, do you?! My Safeway didn’t have the Seattle’s Best cans so I am still trying to find them.

Barbie, the free coupons restriction should just apply to internet printables not newspaper coupons. This is what the policy says:

    18. We will not accept “free product” internet printed manufacturer coupons.

Good job, these are all excellent deals for NorCal. Healthy foods, money donations, donation items, & no threat of coffee emergencies for a long time. Did you find “Good & Well” ?

Oh I thought it was a lot of junk πŸ˜‰ I hate when it is all put out and there is junk everywhere πŸ˜€ No I checked 2 stores and did not find a book anywhere. The broth is a great deal this week- $2 for a 32oz carton of Organic broth. I bought 40 coupons total for Seattle’s Best! usually I am not a huge stockpile person but that should last about 4 months or more.

Wow, Charlene! I was checking out your Tillamook cheese blocks… You got a lot this week. That is great. More junk than usual, but hey, I bet your kids will love those pretzels and bagel bites. πŸ™‚

What service do you use to buy coupons? I’ve looked into it before but never actually purchased any…

My Nob Hill has clearance on Imagine Organic Veg Broth $1.99 for 32oz and I think it’s new packaging causing this

  12. Barbie says

    06/13/2011 at 10:32 AM

Ah, good to know that it’s only the “free” internet coupons they won’t accept…I never noticed that! Thanks for clarifying!

Well the pretzels are mine and the hubs gets Bagel Bites πŸ˜‰ Would never give that stuff to the girls πŸ˜€ I bought them from eBay. I almost never buy coupons but I like those coffee drinks so I went for it. The price was $6.50 each for 2 sets of 20 coupons. I actually had a $15 voucher to eBay that I paid $7 for from Groupon awhile back that I used. So I figure they will be about $.18 each even if I never get any overage.

How do you get the Safeway home mailer to be sent to you?

  15. Charlene says

    06/13/2011 at 9:06 PM

As I said in the post, I don’t have the foggiest idea why they are sending them all the sudden. I suspect it is because there are new grocery stores opening in the area. I did not do anything to have them sent to me.
