I went right past Whole Foods today so I ran in to stock up on vegetable broth. I usually find they have the best prices on organic vegetable broth in cartons, which I use a lot of. So I got 5 of those for $1.99 each. That will last for awhile.
Total was $9.95
I did two very fast transactions at CVS.
#1:
Huggies Diapers $8.99- used $3 coupon
John Frieda haircolor $12- used free item coupon
Donated $1 to the charity they are promoting
I also had a $4/20 CVS coupon from my email and I had $3 in ECBs. So I paid $1.42 which was strictly tax. I got back $2 for the Huggies and $3 for the John Frieda.
#2:
L’Oreal lipcolor $5- Used $2 coupon
L’Oreal eye shadow $6 (this rang up at $9.29 so make sure you watch that yours rings up at the right price)- used $2 coupon
3 Honest Tea $1- used (3) $1/1 coupons
2 Powerade $1
I also used a $3/10 CVS cosmetics coupon. My total was $5.64 with tax (because of the overcharge on the eyeshadow)-it should have been $2.35 with tax- and I got back $3 for the L’Oreal and $2 for the drinks. I’ll just get a refund on the difference the next time I shop.
So all in all I will have paid $3.77 cash, $3 in ECBs from prior trips and have $5 left for next time.
*I do not color my hair.. ahem.. I do not color my hair myself at home. I requested that coupon to confirm it was working when I was posting. But I have found cosmetics and beauty items are great donations for women’s shelters etc… So if you don’t use these items you might find someone that can!
See all the CVS coupon deals for the week here.

I don’t color my hair, but i do like to pick up the free hair color with the intention of donating it, too. I usually give ours to the local food pantry or the local VA hospital (they have a homeless unit with a few women in it). I’m sure women appreciate the luxury of coloring their hair occasionally!
You had a great trip, today – I miss CVS. 🙁
I also used my Free John Freida Haircolor coupon today. I’ve used this haircolor before and it is actually very good.
Where did the Free John Frieda haircolor coupon come from???
Julie- it is mentioned in the weekly matchups. That was a free offer I posted awhile back.
Lol, you are funny Charlene… I do not color my hair at home either. I’ve had a few mishaps with that in the past. I actually have foregone my highlights for over a year now. I’m not going to get my hair done until I get my CC debt paid off. Then I’ll reward myself with some pampering again:-)
I had a CVS question… On that P&G buy $30 worth of stuff and get the free razor do you think you can use the $4 Gillette fusion coupon?? I’m thinking not… I can’t decide if I should do that deal or not…. Decisions… Lol.
I hear ya Stephanie. I had my hair cuts at Supercuts and the hair dressing schools when we were paying off our credit cards and loans. I saved my rebate checks and once those things came I would finally go. It stank but soon enough you will be lovely and pampered again! If only CVS had a professional hair salon inside.
I think that would depend on your cashier. Sometimes I find the CVS cashiers to be the most generous and coupon friendly and then yesterday I had one that reduced my ECB by .01 to be 100% sure I paid every last penny of tax 😛 So who knows. I would think not but you could try.
