Well I headed over to Safeway this week to get a few necessities. This is one of those frustrating weeks where I felt like there were just no good deals at all. I did the menu plan around some things we have on hand already to keep things on budget. Sadly our fridge is seriously empty since we were gone all last week and now my freezer is really dwindling down as well so hopefully this week brings amazing deals.
SAFEWAY: $12.61
Marzetti Dressing $3- used $2 coupon = $1
Kraft Cheese 2 bags BOGO $4.29- used free item coupon= 2 for free
Half and Half $1.59
2 Lucerne Sour Cream $.88* (these don’t expire until the end of June so I grabbed two)
Green Onions $.99
2 Safeway Grape Tomatoes $3.99/2- used $1 off produce coupon= $2.99/2
Stuffed Mushrooms $4.99
Safeway 5lb potatoes $.49*
2 Fresh Express Lettuce Trio $3.29/2- used $1/1 coupon= $1.15 each
Carrots .99
Blue Cheese Olives $.99 (this was a little snack for moi)
I also used the $4 catalina from the Reach toothbrushes.
*Safeway sent me more coupons. I have no idea why other than we have some new grocery stores opening. These were 2 of the coupons they sent.
Oh and we had a gift certificate to a fancy butcher place and I got 1.66 lbs of New York Strip Steak for $6.53. That would be $15.99/lb since I had a $20 certificate. So the hubs and the girls have quite a treat this week.
Total spent $18 and now I plan to hit Winco as a change of pace and see what I find.
Oh, I can’t wait until you get back from Winco. I have been meaning to take a trip, but never quite make it.

I was checking your site one more time before I head out to Winco as well. Was deciding between there and Walmart. Have a huge list. It’s been over 2 weeks since I went grocery shopping.
My daughter and I have been getting the cards from Safeway with coupons on it. This is my third one. They come once a month and last for the month. The first two had 5 or 6 free items on it. Don’t know why I am getting them either, but it’s a great savings, especially with the $10 off $50 purchase coupon.
wow. i haven’t got anything from safeway but got a 10 off 50, 6 of them from raleys..
