Safeway Coupon Deals 5/18-5/24

05/17/2011 By Charlene 21 Comments

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

You can see Safeway’s coupon policy right here. Most stores will allow you to stack a manufacturer coupon with the store coupons that can be found in the weekly circulars. You will want to be sure to get a club card for Safeway to take advantage of the sale prices! Safeway sale prices tend to vary from region to region so you will always want to double check your local ad! Also, I do not have double coupons in my area so your prices are likely much better than mine!

Be sure to read about the new Just for U program rolling out at Safeway!

I bought the Viva yesterday and it printed a slip for a CAT for 5/20-6/12: buy 2 Viva 6-packs, get $2; buy 3 or more, get $5. So now I’m thinking I should return the one I got and buy 2 or 3 tomorrow…just need to get some more .50 coupons!

For the Gatorade deal, the G2 Gatorade has perform written on it, so that will be the free item if you use the coupon. You only need to purchase 3 products instead of 4. 2 will be free. I did this deal yesterday with no problem.

Abby thanks! I have that post set for later today 🙂

Just a heads up to check your personalized deals for avacados and Ragu pasta sauce. I have a personalized price of $1.50 for avacados and $1.59 for Ragu. They are on sale for B1G1 making the avacados $0.75 and the Ragu $0.80 each. I just came back from the store so I know this works. I’m in West Sacramento.

Question…. I have coupons from the Safeway website loaded onto my card. For example, I have a coupon for $.50 loaded and I also have a $.50 off printed coupon. Does Safeway accept both at once or is the card coupon the same as a printed manufacturer coupon? Thanks!

I don’t get the math on the lysol wipes. Two at 1.79 each is 3.58. Less $1/2 coupon is 2.58.
    thanks!

  10. Charlene says

    05/19/2011 at 1:51 PM

Kim that would be $1.29 each as the final price. $1.79-.50= $1.29.

  11. kim says

    05/19/2011 at 2:12 PM

Thanks Charlene, I am new to all of this. Am I understanding that you can use the $1/2 coupon and only buy one and get $.50 off that one?

    🙂

  12. kim says

    05/19/2011 at 2:18 PM

nevermind, I think I answered my own question, the price is each but only when you buy two. you don’t need to post that question, thanks!

  13. Charlene says

    05/19/2011 at 2:28 PM

No Kim, I personally find it easier to mentally determine a good price by calculating the cost per unit. I assume people understand that $1.79 – $1/2 coupon would mean you needed to purchase 2 and that the final price per item is going to be $1.29. The coupon says $1/2 so you need to buy 2 of them and each one is going to cost $1.29. If it makes more sense to you to think of it as $2.58/2 then I would encourage you to think of it like that instead.

I purchased Goldfish at my Vons today in Central CA, the vanilla cupcake grahams came up as $1.40 and one of the other cheddar kinds, either regular or whole grain rang up $1!

I didn’t find the coupon for Softsoap handsoap
Use $.35/1 from 5/1 SS. I looked in the SS 5/1 twice and it wasn’t there. Is their another place it could be or maybe since I’m in No. Cal it wasn’t in that SS coupon section?

  18. Charlene says

    05/21/2011 at 7:44 AM

Wendy, you might not have received that coupon. You can read about coupon variations here:

Which cheese slices are on sale for $.99? I went this morning and they were $3.50 and I checked online and have no coupons or specials for cheese. I hunted high and low for something that said $.99 to find nothing.

  20. Charlene says

    05/21/2011 at 6:34 PM

Caroline, in my ad on the front page there are a variety of items listed for .99. It is pictured here:

    http://myfrugaladventures.com/2011/05/suddenly-salad-49-at-safeway/

You can see some sort of product listed as “Sandwich Slices” next to the Macaroni and Cheese.
