Safeway: 4 Boxes Cereal + Milk $5.76

I am a little gun shy to post this because last time the free milk cat was a bust.  I mentioned yesterday there could possibly be a free milk catalina coupon printing when you buy 3 boxes of General Mills cereal.  I heard from several of you that confirmed the catalina printed and I did contact Catalina directly yesterday to ask about it and they didn’t have any other details for me.  (Boo!)

So anyway, this is HOPEFULLY working but no promises.  The way it works is that you get a catalina for a free gallon of milk of your choice (I think this is up to $3.59?- so you can use it toward Organic!) at the end of your transaction.

This cat goes nicely with the current cereal promo- Buy 4 boxes and Save $4 at checkout.

Here is the deal:

Buy 4 boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Honey Nut Cheerios at $1.99
Use the $.55/1 Cheerios coupon or printable
or Use the $1/2 Cinnamon Toast Crunch coupon
Pay as low as $5.76 for 4 boxes plus get the free milk cat!

The way I look at this is that milk is roughly $3.00 a gallon here- so you basically pay $2.76 for 4 boxes of cereal or .69 per box.

If the catalina DOES NOT print for you, you can keep the cereal and call it a day. You can contact catalina marketing and see if they will mail it to you OR you can return the cereal for a refund.

And the deals are better if you have a Just for U price. I paid $3.83 for 4 boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios and got the milk catalina. My just for u price is 2.37 and I had 3 .55 coupons.

Nice! Ok so you did this and it worked fine Melissa? Or you plan to do it?

Just did this deal 30 minutes ago and the Catalina printed for me. I bought (2) Cinnamon Toast Crunch and (2) Honey Nut Cheerios.

I’m about to leave to try it myself. Do you think if I buy 8 boxes I’ll get 2 cats? or should I do two seperate transactions?

Sarah- I have to run and get dinner ready but you might check the ad and see what the fine print says. It might say Save $4 for 4- limit 12 or something in which case you can buy them at once. One thing though it the milk cats tend to expire quickly. So unless you will use 2 gallons in a short time it might be better to buy 4 more next week before the ad ends.

Worked in N CA tonight. Paid $3.27 for 4 boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios and got the milk catalina. Then went back and got the milk (YEAH!). You can always freeze the extra milk.

I was able to print 2 more $.55 Honey Nut Cheerios coupons on BettyCrocker.com. You just need to create an account to do so. I had already maxed out my prints on coupons.com, so this was a nice find 🙂 I’ll be headed back to Safeway to get the cereal/milk deal.

Thank you Lisa for the Betty Crocker tip!

In the Sacramento, CA suburbs, I got the 4 for $5.76, and the free milk printed (with the when you buy 3 general mills)… mine expires 6/10, so I didn’t go and get milk.

The catalina is working in Santa Cruz County, CA. I got a sweet deal on 4 boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios. I didn’t realize I had a personalized price, and a $.55 e-coupon. I also was able to use 4 $.55 cent printable coupons as well. So in the end I paid $2.73 for the 4 boxes, plus I got the milk catalina. We go through at least 3-4 gallons of milk and 6 or so boxes of cereal a week at my house (teenagers live off of cereal lol), so this was great!

I did this last night and got the milk catalina. Plus, there were coupon booklets with GM cereal coupons in them right on the cereal display on the front of the aisle.

I got the milk cat in Chico too. They had a stack of the GM cereal coupon booklets in a display box on the end cap as well. I am thinking about going back today but am wondering – if I buy 12 boxes in one transaction will it print 4 of the cats or am I limited to receiving one cat per transaction?

Just for info: my milk cat that I got on Friday expires on June 10th and is good for up to $3.75 and yes, with two teens, two littles and one hubby we will drink all that milk quickly!

My milk CAT says free milk wyb 3 boxes. So does that mean I have to buy an addtl 3 boxes of cereal?

  15. Charlene says

    05/15/2011 at 11:24 AM

No Jen, the catalina announcement will say Buy 3 boxes of cereal and get a milk. If you buy the cereal you take the cat that prints and get the milk free with no other purchase requirements.

Jill – I bought 12 boxes all in one transaction and got 4 free milk catalinas – so it will work! We’re like you in that we go through 4 gallons in one week, if not more! 🙂
