Well we have two Raley’s shoppers that shared a great scenario this week at Raley’s:
There is a printable coupon available for a free Sara Lee pound cake with purchase of Ballpark buns and franks. This is a manufacturer coupon but it is also a pdf and has a Raley’s logo- so while you can use it anywhere it is probably easiest to stick with Raley’s.
Here is a deal they worked out:
Buy Ballpark buns at $2.99
Buy Ballpark Franks at $2.00
Buy Sara lee pound cake at $2.50
Use (2) $1/1 any Ballpark product printable coupons
and Use Free Sara lee pound cake coupon
Final Price: $2.99 for all 3 items.

Funny…. I posted this EXACT same deal on slickdeals yesterday morning. After going to Raley’s to check all the pricing and everything and workign out the deal. Nice that someone took the deal from SD and brought it here. 🙁

By the way, Raley’s posted a status on their FB page this morning about changing account preferences to Bakery or Seafood. I’ve changed mine to Bakery and I’m patiently (ok, impatiently…lol) waiting to find out what they are going to do. As of this posting, I haven’t seen anything. But I thought I’d let everyone know to be on the lookout. I hope it’s something great =)

I did this deal last weekend. Just a note: the free Sara Lee pound cake is the smaller size and make sure you grab the hot dogs that are on sale for $2. There are a few packages that cost more.

Me, Yikes! I am sorry this has become a problem. Would people prefer that I pull this post down? I have things stolen from me pretty regularly so I know it is very upsetting- it makes my blood boil actually. I also know that there has been talk of this deal for a week in the comments so I have a hard time thinking the readers that are commenting are copying someone else’s work. I should have posted right away yesterday but I try to have balance on my site. Tuesday tends to be a lot of Nor CA stores and it is a bit of a turn off to the readers that are from other areas of the country. Can you tell me what you felt was mean?

I don’t have the foggiest idea where this was posted I just caved and posted because people have been commenting on that coupon for a week. The only involvement that I have is posting what you guys have been talking about for a week.

and then first thing in the morning I saw comments from EC and AJ under the current deals. Both of them are active readers and on top of things so I just think it was a coincidence myself. I hate to think my readers are stealing from others and you can see on the Safeway and Raleys posts week after week that both of those readers participate all the time in finding deals. I just posted that Ballpark coupon a few days ago so I think this was an easy one to put together. Niecesha just said she did the deal herself last weekend so she obviously put it together herself.
I certainly hope this isn’t a situation where I am personally being accused of stealing someone else’s work because that changes things entirely. I read this as a person suggesting my readers were stealing and I pointed out that the conversation started over a week ago by you guys. I am aware of the site she mentioned but it is very rare that I go there. As you can guess from my blog, I am not left with a lot of free time to search around on forums.
So again, I apologize if someone felt their work was taken unfairly but I am really going to be upset if it is ME that is being accused of stealing because I can say with 100% certainty that was absolutely not the case.
The coupon was on the Raley’s site last week. I printed it then, but held onto it because the Ballpark stuff wasn’t on sale last week. It’s not unreasonable that more than one person could put this deal together. It’s not rocket science lol. I certainly appreciate everthing you do 🙂
I did this deal on Monday night, but hadn’t gotten around to commenting on how it worked for me. One of your readers posted a comment on it under your matchups for last week’s Raley’s ad. I looked it up and hadn’t even clipped the new Ball Park coupons, but I felt it was a good deal at the time and went for it. I notice that you always credit your sources and/or readers when you post their deal ideas. Your blog is my favorite! You are always ethical and courteous and encouraging others to be be the same with their couponing. It’s the only blog I read regularly (except when you link to other drugstore match-ups!) Thanks!!
Hey thanks Sarah! I am not a good cook by the way 😛 I just try hard to find new things. I am on the fence about sticking with RA deals. It is sooooo much work but I haven’t found anyone who I am really really happy with their deals so I keep going back and forth. I will stick with CVS and Wags though for sure.
