I don’t know why I haven’t mentioned this yet. I guess subconsciously I am hogging all these for myself. Many of you may have stumbled upon these books already. I mention them from time to time because they often have great coupons inside. These are little “magazines” that are exclusive to the Safeway family of stores. I typically find these in the produce area and you really have to hunt for them. I have seen them stacked in the produce area on the floor, in little racks on the side of produce displays and occasionally I see them at the customer service area with the weekly ads.
The nice thing is that if you can find them, most people won’t bother taking them so they are usually plentiful.
If you can find the March Issue in your store (mine still has March out)- there is a coupon inside for a free sample of Sun-Rype Fruit Squiggles. The Fruit Squiggles can be found in the produce area as well. It is like a little wrapped up Twizzler and they are priced around $.33-.76 each.
So if you find the books you can use the coupon to get a free Sun Rype Squiggle. I have been grabbing one each time I shop and have several for Easter baskets. The expiration on the coupon is August 21- so plenty of time to use them!
I do not think this is worth a special trip to Safeway since these are just single serve snacks. Some stores may not carry this magazine at all but worth looking for while you are shopping!

I have yet to find this magazine/flyer but I’m going to look harder the next time I shop. My Safeway does have the Simple Nutrition brochure which has been very nice for my produce buys. 🙂
Great for lunch boxes. I like to buy Squiggles as a “filler item” to help me get over the $5-minimum produce purchase~so I can use the $1/$5 coupon. Squiggles counts as produce. Give the $1/$5 coupon first, then the free Squiggles coupon.
If you can’t find “Fresh Ideas Mag”, just ask the Produce Dept Associates on the sales floor. Sometimes they have the magazines in the back room.
Honestly, I don’t think anybody else reads the magazine, brochures, or shelf tags EXCEPT us couponers!
i’ve purchased sun-rype products. i have never seen these brochures in the produce section at the 2 safeways near my home (1 is large with pharmacy, 1 is smaller w/o pharmacy). i saw the simple nutrition brochures a month ago at 1 safeway, but never again. you all must shop at great safeway stores. i have asked the produce people and they look at me weird.
finally found these recently.
how does the coupon scan? does it need price input or override? haven’t tried it yet because I’m always in self checkout & try to avoid beepers.
Franki- the cashier will need to enter the price. It will beep.
